To be honest, I don't think I'm as smart as everyone makes me out to be....everyone thinks I am smart because I look like it, because I'm quiet, because I never cause any troubles...but really...I'm not, I don't think so. And ppl on the internet think I have something special for some reason....

But I'm terrible at English. How is coming last in Adv English going to help my ATAR? And when I say terrible, I mean HORRIBLE. Like, if it wasn't cumpulsory, I wouldn't do it not even if someone held a gun to my head. My ranks will suffer big time in Adv English.

That's not so bad. I can deal with that. I will be much better in terms of ranking in Standard than Advanced, because everyone will pretty much be in the same boat (dislike English), if I do Advanced everyone will be very good and far ahead of me, and as a result my ranks will suffer and so will...

But I have to do Standard, if I do Advanced, I'll come last in my whole school cohort (That's how bad at English I am), whereas if I do Standard I have a decent chance to be at least top ten.

Is that because people who do Standard are no good?

So I can't get a band 6 even if get 90+?

Also, I agree it is very important to rectify your weaknesses in Year 11 before Year 12 starts. I have practically bludged, and not cared about studies my whole high school life, I'm going to use Year 11 to fix that.

If I choose Advanced, I'll be in a class with a whole lot of smart people who got A's and B's on their reports and my ranks are going to suffer badly. I'll probably come last.

Also, kinda irrelevant but what internal rank do you need to get a Band 6 in something in Year 12? Also, how does Standard English affect your ATAR? I have to choose Standard, I'm hopeless at English, like really bad, just....bad. But if I get 90+ in Standard, can I get a band 6? This is very...

Well, I sorta dissagree because if you are not a person with great study habits, or not used to the pressure, I would use Year 11 as a building block, otherwise I would find it very hard in Year 12.

Like...at all? My school never tells me these things.

They don't offer Classical Greek Extension at my school. Is it a 1 unit course or 2 unit?

I just want to know, out of curiousity, not because I want to do it. Is it Maths Extension 2, but I heard some languages like Classical Greek Extension scale even better and Latin Extension. I'm just asking this out of interest, so please don't assume that I'm picking subjects based on scaling...

It is not always that simple. With low scaling subjects, IMO, you have to make sure you do really well, there is an huge difference betwen 80 and 90 raw HSC mark. There is no room for silly mistakes.
