Do any other girls do Software Design and Development?

...funny. Trust the guy with lesbians in the avatar to bring out the sexist joke.. =S Perhaps you should stick to male porn?

    2's comp

*bump* (just for you crammy) Yeah something here that both you and zvyx seemed to misunderstand about 2's comp. The cpu DOES know whether it is a negative number or a really big postive number. (As I explained in the negative minus negative thread earlier) The first sign of a two's complement...

Do any other girls do Software Design and Development?

I read somewhere that it is something like 25% girls to 75% guys? I know that a lot girls schools don't offer it though.. I guess it is like the male version of textiles? Yay for sexist subject choice :) =S

A DILEMMA! involving the masses of neutron in kg and in amu

Although I can't be bothered to explore this, working backwards from the textbook value you get a mass for the neutron of approximately 1.6754 It is possible the textbooks have simply used a more accurate value for the mass of a neutron. EDIT: It seems the mass of neutron is actually closer to...

    desk checking

Hsc markers are fairly lenient on desk checking as there are so many different methods. As ianc says, the most important thing is showing that you get how the program works and coming up with the right end value. And you can get away with the FOR..NEXT loop occasionally but I wouldn't risk it...

    Negative Minus Negative

If the leading digit is a 1, it is negative. You must apply 2's comp (swap then +1) then convert to decimal to get the value of the number (well a positive version of it, just add a negative sign). If the leading digit is a 0, then coversion to decimal gives the value. The only one this doesn't...

    Studying for Software

I find the best way is to set a reward after I finish a paper, and just sit down and do it. I end up doing it in like 2 hours - 2h 30 min. Just because I want to get it over with - motivation enough for me :)

    Design Specs

I find for SDD it is important not to take the textbook as bible. I don't think it is very easy to study from the syllabus either, and it is too late to write notes on the whole syllabus now. I suggest getting some other people's syllabus notes and going back to the textbook for parts where you...

    Negative Minus Negative

    Ok, using 8 bits (to make it much clearer hopefully): 13 = 00001101 -13 (2's comp) = 11110011 7 = 00000111 -7 (2's comp) = 11111001 ..11110011+ ..11111001 111101100 Cutting off lead: 11101100 The first bit is a 1, therefore it is negative. Using 2's comp to remove negative sign: 00010100 =...

    Negative Minus Negative

Well when you change it from 2's complement it equals 20. Ie, when you take away the negative sign it is 20. ..10011 ..11001+ 101100 Note the first bit is a 1, therefore negative You then cut off first bit (as it is only 5 bits total) = 01100 You then change from 2's comp (ie take away the...

Some people don't listen :( (rage)

    Negative Minus Negative

Well, I guess that would explain why it is in Software Design and Development. Oh well, I will explain anyway. Two's complement (2's comp) is a way of representing negative numbers in binary so that they can be added and subtracted. It also means that you don't need to know the sign of a...

do we get binary data sheet?

Actually that is 578 in reverse binary, something you just made up for us? Thanks.. :) (bump)

    Negative Minus Negative

    Its bump time, oh well, hopefully this helps someone. 13 = 01101 -13 (2's comp) = 10011 7 = 00111 -7 (2's comp) = 11001 -13 + -7 10011 11001+ 01100 (2's comp) (cutting off the extra 1) = 10100 (normal) = 20 Therefore answer is -20 Of course you could always just get 13 and 7, add them...

    Design Specs

Design specifications • the developer’s perspective in consideration of: – data types – algorithms – variables • the user’s perspective Direct from the syllabus =D I haven't seen any of those things you listed in the syllabus. However, they may be helpful for detail and understanding of this...

    Exam predictions?

Hmm, I'm pretty sure there was a thread like this about 2 days ago.. Yep, see 2008 hsc.

Ah, of course. Stupid me :) Question 9 anyone?

    2005 paper m/c questions

http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/hsc_exams/hsc2005exams/pdf_doc/physics_05.pdf Ok, I am having trouble with 2 of the multiple choice questions from this. First, question 7. Is this just a poorly worded question? I took it as meaning what direction is the current going in 0.0001 seconds...

What was the hardest HSC paper?

Completely agree. Also, 2005 wasn't very hard?? Don't mean to appear up myself or anything, but it was a pretty easy test... I lost 1 mark on it :( Maybe just lucky that I saw everything quickly?

    Help please

I can't be bothered doing it right now. But sin2x crosses the axis at pi/2. So you need to add the absolute values of the two parts, above and below axis to get the total area.
