100/120 is, according to Windows Calc which I don't trust (lol), 83 1/3 %. Is that correct? 83% would align to about 92. This is an estimate based on the aligning of Maths Extension 1, which another BoSer showed by posting his raw mark and aligned mark.

You should be aiming for 99.95 ATAR if you want to do well in the HSC. Don't say "I'll be happy with 80" because then you'll always have that in mind, thus you won't try as hard as you would have had you aimed for perfection (perfection: something that is never there).

Your school should not be doing preliminary course work during the HSC course. That is wrong and yes, it will put you at a disadvantage as you will either finish the HSC courses late or not at all. If you don't cover all the objectives "students learn to" and "students learn about" for each...
