I understand that. I am just confused as the result of the scholarship is revealed mid-late February. Preferences for main round offers have to be in very soon, and I'm just unsure whether or not I could still receive the scholarship whilst receiving an offer to Macquarie in a later round.

I am interested in continuing with French and I like the majors offered at Usyd. I know it may seem trivial but it appears that Usyd is more prestigious. It is also closer to home for me. What do you mean you can almost guarantee I won't be able to study at Usyd?

Yes you can change your preferences after you get your ATAR. I got an atar of above 99 doing general maths.
