    transferring usyd to unsw?

Eh. :/ The advice person on Open Day said they look at both. But whatever, you're probably right. I guess either way, if you have an awesome UAI, that certainly helps if you have slightly less-than-incredible uni grades.

    transferring usyd to unsw?

You need at least a credit (65 or greater) average to transfer in the first place, and no, you can't pick-and-choose which subjects they look at - they look at all of them. However, I think they take your UAI into account, as well as your grades from your first year of uni study. And you apply...

    general UNSW chit-chat

lol, I was once so bored in a lab that I filled up three test tubes with water so that they were tuned to three different notes, and then played the chorus from Love Story on them (because it only uses three notes) by tapping them with a pencil... :o People thought I was a bit strange...

    general UNSW chit-chat

ME TOO. I get the impression that, from the corny slogans/puns etc and enthusiasm from the revue people, the idea is that they're trying to make it (a revue) so lame that it ends up being funny. However, to me, it just seems...so lame that it's not funny. Do the revues actually turn out to...

    bios 1301, taronga zoo anyone?

Leaf litter prac was one of the worst. :mad1: "There's another isopod...write that down...oh, and another one..." "Nah, we already counted that one." "Which one?" "That one." "...how do you know we've already counted it?" "Because...first it was over there, but I saw it move to there - hey...

    bios 1301, taronga zoo anyone?

Um...there's a course profile right here? And my opinion on the course here.

How well can you sight read?

I am virtually musically dyslexic, myself. :( I cannot learn anything purely by reading the score; I have to hear it, and then either learn it using both hearing and the sheet music, or just using the score as a rough guide and picking out most stuff by ear. Therefore, if someone puts...

    UNSW Open Day 2009

Hmm, even I might turn up to see this maglev train, to fulfill part of my [insert negative adjective of choice here] SCOM course requirements (ie, going to any kind of science communication event)...although the psychology stuff sounds interesting too: Open Day site Hmm.

    Atheism!

    That sounds about right.
  11. missanonymous7

    Atheism!

OK cool. Just clarifying. I would argue that no, you don't necessarily need all of what you listed to 'get into heaven' (eg, baptism has very little to do with it, imo.)
  12. missanonymous7

    Atheism!

Are you implying that, in order to 'get into heaven', all seven of those points are compulsory?

Should I take Music in Yr 11?

Yeah, go for it. There were people in my music 1 class with less musical expertise/experience than you, and they did fine. I play piano too, and am about 5th grade, but I've never taken a formal exam (well, you could say that my HSC performance last year was the first official examination of...

    UNSW Open Day 2009

I'm going :) as a 'guide' for one of my friends who has seen the light and wants to transfer from Sydney uni to UNSW next year. ...do they really give out decent free stuff? All I remember getting from last year's open day was a ton of paper/info, some pens and a bag. (I got a free frisbee and...

    zMail

Haha...I discovered EIGHTEEN FRIGGING EMAILS sitting in my zmail yesterday that were never forwarded to my hotmail, despite them claiming that if you were already redirecting your emails when the changeover to zmail occured (which I was), then you wouldn't have to worry. They lied. :mad1:

    general UNSW chit-chat

I was originally going to do a double-major in science (scom being one of the majors), not a double degree...but after this semester I'm going to ditch the science communication side altogether. So yeah, I did actually choose to do a SCOM course, because ultimately I'd like to end up with a job...

    general UNSW chit-chat

...please tell me I'm not the only person who thinks the following assignment sounds vague and weird: Um. Well at least I guess it's not as weird as the assignment a previous SCOM class had - of locating a sock that was exactly five years old (not from your own household) and providing...

    how to meet more people?

No waaaaay. At high school, I had a massive group of friends/acquaintences who I'd see every break time, and some of them in class. At uni, I have one or two friends/acquaintences per course, whom I basically never see outside of lectures/labs/tutes because we don't have the same break times...

    Senior science and scaling

If you get a fantastic senior science mark, you can still get a good UAI/ATAR. I got a final mark of 98 for senior sci and ended up with a UAI of 96.5. No idea about scaling though. (and UGH, I hated Wuthering Heights too.)
