    Double Degrees question

Sorry do you have a source?

    Double Degrees question

Source? Someone just told me they thought it was 5 years haha :/

    Double Degrees question

Is it possible for me to do a double degree in Civil Engineering and Maths? If so, how long would it take? And how much extra work would it be compared to taking a single degree?

    Finding the general solution (sin3x = sin2x)

I have really horrible memory so I just avoid even trying to memorise stuff because I know I'll end up forgetting it under pressure :/. Out of curiosity, would this really get you a full mark for questions a tad harder than this in the HSC?

    Finding the general solution (sin3x = sin2x)

Gah I feel so stupid now for missing both of those points. Thanks a lot! Edit: I'm still getting the wrong second answer for some reason ((pi)/5 + 2n(pi)/5) :/

    Permutation question

First thing to do is to seperate your working out into three sections: 1-Digit numbers, 2-Digit numbers and 3-Digit Numbers (remember that the number <600)

    Finding the general solution (sin3x = sin2x)

    For some reason my answer is completely off the asnwers in the back of my book. My method: sin3x = sin2x sin3x - sin2x = 0 but sin(A+B) - sin(A-B) = 2sinBcosA A + B = 3x; -A + B = -2x 2A = 5x ; A = 5x/2 2B = x; B = x/2 Therefore sin(3x) - sin(2x) = 2sin(x/2)cos(5x/2) = 0 i.e...

    Progress in Extension 2.

Content wise, we've just started mechanics and still have all of harder 3 unit left (I'm blaming this on being an entire term late, thanks). Work wise I've still got questions from pretty much most off the topics that I haven't done yet but will definitely be catching up on (mainly conics and...

Is year 11 and 12 chemistry hard?

Which part of chemical monitoring and management? I remember that module and production of materials being pretty much based on memorising. Also, to OP, like everyone else said, Year 11 Chem is harder than Year 12. (The lattice crap still gives me nightmares...*war flashbacks*). I recommend you...

    Trigonometry Question (General Solutions)

Thanks for the replies. I tried subbing in random integers and it didn't seem to work out, but I just wanted to double check as, in the harder 3 unit part of 4 unit, i kept getting answers without the +/- in there before things like pi/3 or pi/10 (which were in the answers) unless I changed the...

    Trigonometry Question (General Solutions)

    Are these three general solutions the same answer? 1) 2n*pi + pi/3 2) 2n*pi +/- pi/3 3) 2n*pi - pi/3 I know 2 contains both 1 and 3, but does 1 contain 3 and so on?

    Conics Hyperbola Question

Oh my god! I found it like three times and all those times I completely forgot to keep the negative in I'm so stupid ugh. Thanks again! Also, I guess it would be +/- 1/q as opposed to 1/q?

    Conics Hyperbola Question

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong with this question: P( p, 1/p) and Q (q, 1/q) are two varibale points on the rectangular hyperbola xy = 1. a) If M is the midpoint of the chord PQ and OM is perpendicular to PQ, express q in terms of p I found: M = ((p+q)/2, (p+q)/2pq) m(OM) = 1/pq...

    Conics Question Help?

I've got another question I need a bit of quick help with though. The question is: P( p, 1/p) and Q (q, 1/q) are two varibale points on the rectangular hyperbola xy = 1. a) If M is the midpoint of the chord PQ and OM is perpendicular to PQ, express q in terms of P I found: M = ((p+q)/2...

    Conics Question Help?

Thanks, guys! I'll try it out now. Edit: Awesome got it! Thanks so much! And yep, I ended up using the angle-between-two-lines formula, ending up with: tan(/alpha) = -tan(/beta) The angle alpha is therefore the same size as beta, meaning that PS and PS' are equally inclined to the...

    Conics Question Help?

The question is (Question 9 from Fitz. 4 Unit 32(c)): "P is a variable point on the ellipse with equation: \frac{x^2}{a^2} + \frac{y^2}{b^2} = 1 and S and S' are the focii. Show that PS and PS' are equally inclined to the tangent at P." I have no idea what I'm trying to prove. What does it...

    Tips for Conics?

Conics is by far the topic I've had the most trouble with in 4 unit (should've probably expected it since I had similar trouble with the 3 unit parametric stuff). Does anyone have any general tips for the ellipse and hyperbola problems that would help?

    common error.

    6÷2(1+2) From what I see, that would be written as 6/2(1+2), not (6/2) * (1+2) as (1+2) is only connected to the 2 so it's = 6/2(1+2) = 3/(1+2) = 3/3 = 1????

    ATAR estimate please?

School Ranking: ~220 Advanced English: 2/16 Chemistry: 3/14 Physics: 3/11 3U Maths: 1/1 - ~90% in Half Yearlies (my teacher mainly put harder HSC questions in this one) 4U Maths: 1/1 - ~80% in Half Yearlies (only complex, graphs and adv. 3 unit HSC questions, so not a good estimate and...
