    The JD

50/50 ATAR:GPA, To be competitive I'd say an ATAR of 95 minimum and a D average. Optimally, a 98 ATAR and a D+ Average should guarantee you a place. For an internal transfer to their undergraduate Law degree its: 75:25 ATAR:GPA, And I've heard a 98 ATAR and D+Average would be sufficient.

    5.5-5.7 GPA in Science Adv.

nah, 6 in total from all campuses

Scaling when you're the only person in your class?

you get your own exam mark as your assessment mark

    5.5-5.7 GPA in Science Adv.

No worries. More than happy to help.. I was in a similar predicament last year. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a PM or on MSO. Just my advice: Take the early offer and get an offer from UWS in the early offer round, then immediately change your preferences so that you can...

    5.5-5.7 GPA in Science Adv.

It depends on how good your particular cohort is at the UMAT and how well you perform in the UMAT. Many students will smash the UMAT the 2nd time around and gain interviews without even needing the "UWS scheme" others (like me) will only improve slightly and need the scheme to gain an...

    5.5-5.7 GPA in Science Adv.

UWS assessments for science units are basically this: Practicals/Tut work (35%) 1 Written Report (15%) Final Exam (50%)

    5.5-5.7 GPA in Science Adv.

Yeah the 5.5 GPA is a threshold, thus they don't consider it once it has been surpassed. But virtually 100% of students surpass it, thus essentially it is solely ranked on UMAT. I've written quite a few extensive posts on the UWS Adv Science degree and it's benefits in seeking Medicine entry...

    5.5-5.7 GPA in Science Adv.

not ranked by GPA as I just said.. UWS is easy so I think more than 6 people obtain a GPA of 7.0 for first year, or if not 6.875 or higher.. like myself.

    5.5-5.7 GPA in Science Adv.

Well.. everyone in the entire Adv Sci / Adv Med Sci cohort desires a transfer to medicine.. so in that sense it is quite competitive. However in my opinion it truly is the best course you could choose if you seek a transfer into a medical school. It's easy to maintain a killer GPA @ UWS -...

    5.5-5.7 GPA in Science Adv.

To OP: Definitely achievable.. I currently study the same course. 1st Year Adv Sci is exactly like a B Sci. The advanced component only kicks in for 2nd/3rd year.. With minimal effort I attained a GPA of 6.875 - attending no lectures and only attending compulsory tuts/practicals and studying...

Do I have a chance at optom?

solid UMAT, but your ATAR is a bit on the low side. I think your ATAR is too low tbh.

    Psychology/Law?

I definitely agree with utopianradical. You should choose a 3 year course - unless you are unbelievably confident with your UMAT and interview skills. By the sounds of it - it comes across as you believe that getting into Medicine is quite easy.. "I guess I'll try UNSW med. If not, transfer...
  13. D

    Psychology/Law?

Not UNSW Med.. absolute minimum ATAR required is 96. And they still consider ATAR for applicants.
  14. D

    Psychology/Law?

You will never be able to transfer directly into 2nd year Medicine.. you haven't done any of the units. Adv Sci or Adv Med Sci is your best option.. lowered UMAT score required then if you were to transfer from a LLB. UNSW is completely impossible now with your ATAR. All other uni's are...

equal first in three subs.. really unlucky. probably shouldn't have tied with a dud though.. =/ how could a dud get 1st.. I mean seriously.. say for Ext 1 for example. You got 98/78. If ircc the assessment mark is the average of the tied students right. That means that other 1st...

Wait so your marks were this? 97/87 - 92 HSC mark 98/78 - 88 HSC mark (or the /50 equivalent) 96/84 - 90 HSC mark (or the /50 equivalent) Where marks on the left = HSC mark / Assessment mark

Distinguished Achievers List (with sortable/searchable excel file)

Re: Distinguished Achievers List Will you be posting an excel file like last year? I found that extremely helpful to find students.
