finding the maximum and minimum of trigonometry curves.

can you give me the specifics of why you did each line like that.

finding the maximum and minimum of trigonometry curves.

in the very first line, i am curious why you you times the sin (pi/4) by t and brought the t in the bracket. Can you do that?

finding the maximum and minimum of trigonometry curves.

P.s are two unit student required to know the formulae a cos x + b sin x = R cos(x − α) (i haven't encountered it in my book) but it would help to solve for some max and min functions.

finding the maximum and minimum of trigonometry curves.

i meant pi, opps. must of been very hungry. can anyone help me out?

finding the maximum and minimum of trigonometry curves.

the answers are pie/6 and 5(pie)/6

finding the maximum and minimum of trigonometry curves.

However in other questions they differentiate to find maximum and minimum points e.g find the maximum and minimum values of 1 + root3sinx + coxs in the interval O<x<2(pie)

finding the maximum and minimum of trigonometry curves.

i am having trouble with this concept in general because instead of differentiating to find dy/dx then equating to zero (then solving normally), the answer in the book draw the graph instead and look on the max and min points on there. Why do they do this? i.e this question. between 5am...

    Trig curves and integration.

and how would you find the area, sorry for being a bug but it's hard to understand.

    Trig curves and integration.

when i draw the graph, as you stated (first post) it will be cosx-sinx However when i try to think of it logically, ie. draw the cos x graph sepeartly and then minus it from the sinx between the 0 and the (pie)/2 the areas seem to cancel out each other because they are exactly the same.

    Trig curves and integration.

i am still a bit confused about the top curve-lower curve theory. How do you know which one is "on top".

    Trig curves and integration.

I keep stumbling on trig curves where i am asked to find the area between 2 curves e.g sinx and -cosx between 2 certain points. In the solutions they always subtract one curve from the other. How do you know which one to subtract from the other to find the area shaded, there is nothing in my...

Why are iron artefacts stored in basic solutions?

I.e the book says once an iron object is retrieved from a site it is stored in a NaOH 2%w/v solution. The reason is that "the metal surface is passivated". What exactly does this mean and how does it occur?

    questions on integration

    thanks everyone :)) i have anther question not sure if this is 2 or 3 unit topic Show that sin(2x + 30#) = root3 sinx cosx + cos^2x – 1/2. and Express root2 sinx + cosx in the form rsin(x + α). p.s 3 means pie i couldn't find an easier symbol. thanks again

    questions on integration

I have a couple of questions if anyone can assist that would be heaps appreciated. a) A particle has a constant acceleration of 12m/s. if the particle has a velocity of 2 ms and is 3m from the origin after 5s, find it's displacement after 10s b) A projectile is accelerating at a constant...
