so,what are your plans for these holidays?

Er, I think he's American (would've helped him become one of the faces of American Express...) He used to play quite well, but now it's all about Spanish and Swiss players or something.

    "All My Own Work" Program

I guess learning how to reference wouldn't make much of a difference for them then? At least in terms of marks, it doesn't mean much. As long as it proves you haven't plagiarised. I just think you feel safer and it looks more professional if you do it properly.

so,what are your plans for these holidays?

LOL. There's just something soothing about watching a ball fly rhythmically across the tv screen. I watch it so I can hear that sound it makes when it hits the racquet... yes, sad. And I believe the last time a real Australian tennis player stepped onto the courts was about 50 years ago. They...

    "All My Own Work" Program

That's odd. We always do it at the end of year 10 (when there's nothing else to do), and it seems like a lot of other schools do too (though I'm not sure about this). And if they didn't complete the task in year 10, they'd be called up to finish it off the next year. It seems like it would be a...

so,what are your plans for these holidays?

I wish I were going overseas. Instead I guess I'll be stuck home watching tennis again. Is it just the people I know or do those who stay at home do nothing but watch the Australian Open? Well, other than that I'll try to read some related texts for next year (if I find out what they are) and...

    "All My Own Work" Program

I agree. despite the fact that it was boring, I did learn a bit about footnotes, endnotes and other proper methods of referencing. And my school uses the Harvard system. They're quite strict on these kinds of things, so it's like a second language. How nerdy, lol.

    SC Results Thread

Re: 2008SC SC Results ~ Thanks. I'm quite envious of some of your marks! Wow, why do they do this? It seems quite unfair and the system is open to manipulation. Perhaps someone she bring up the issue with the school... My school's equivalent to a dux award in year 10 is determined by exam...

    SC Results Thread

Re: 2008SC SC Results ~ Test results: English - 91 (lol, barely over the line for band 6!) Mathematics - 95 Science - 96 Geography - 98 History - 96 Computing skills - 96 My parents don't realise the SC isn't important, so I'll use it for bargaining with them :) The tests were dodgy. Some...

    Bad Teachers

I guess it depends on whether the teachers' teaching styles suit the students' learning styles. My maths class does well because the teacher extends our learning by giving us harder questions, more in depth information etc. A lot of students would be bored with most of the topics if she didn't...

What I will NOT miss about year 10

Studying for stuff no one even cares about. Like the names of wood types. As if anyone uses natural materials anymore.
