Official BOS Study Meat v2.0 (Winter Edition)

Course not! I'll have plenty of work to be doing. Just out of curiousity, how long do you think each seminar will run for? (I notice Drogonoski's will be "a short talk")

Official BOS Study Meat v2.0 (Winter Edition)

IMO even if I get nothing done and spend the whole day fucking around, it'll be worth it just for Carrot's and Drogonoski's seminars.

Are there any grads going that did music? I love your sig.

Official BOS Study Meat v2.0 (Winter Edition)

I can't help but visualise the guy in your profile pic saying this. I can't wait to meet Spiral. And Drogonoski. And theind1996, who despite the fact that he knows everything about me, I know absolutely nothing about :p. That being said, I'm not exactly a people-person, so I might end up with...

    Tough Integration problem

http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=\int_{0}^{1}\frac{\sqrt{1-x^2}}{1-x^2.\sin^2\%3Bx}dx However, I agree that you shouldn't use wolframalpha for everything - the working it gives is absolutely ridiculously overcomplicated sometimes.

    More Class, The Better?!?!?!

6 periods a day 52 minutes on most days. I think they're too short to be honest - by the time you get to the next class, get everything out and everyone settles down you've wasted 10 minutes. There's also the problem that some practicals, especially for chemistry, take a long time so often you'd...

    HSC 2012 MX1 Marathon #2 (archive)

Re: HSC 2012 Marathon :) Yeah, I used a long method that involved differentiating stuff and then integrating some different stuff... Only to realise I could've done it with basic geometry. Got the same answer both ways though, so maybe it is right.

    HSC 2012 MX1 Marathon #2 (archive)

Re: HSC 2012 Marathon :) The answer I'm getting is that it'll collapse after ~67 seconds, so it'd be unsafe to stand on after ~62 seconds. I'm fairly sure that's not right though...

    Free 4 Unit maths papers

Could you perhaps upload a zip/rar to a third party site like mediafire/dropbox then? Thanks heaps anyway, I'll download them all tomorrow and upload to dropbox if someone hasn't already by then

    HSC 2012 MX1 Marathon #2 (archive)

Re: HSC 2012 Marathon :) Use \dot{} or \ddot{} to do the dots. Also, I don't like the wording of the question. "At an angle of 15 degrees to the horizontal" is pretty ambiguous.

    simple probability question

I make mistakes like that all the time!

    Free 4 Unit maths papers

Thanks man, I'd rep but I need to spread... EDIT: 2 things. Firstly, what's the difference between 2006 V1 and 2, I only skimmed through but I couldn't see anything. Secondly, are you sure these are James Ruse papers? Because they seem awfully easy compared to what I would've expected.

Official BOS Study Meat v2.0 (Winter Edition)

Re: Official BOS Study Meat v2.0 What's the go with seminars? Will they be running all at once, or one at a time? Are we restricted to only attending one? (probably should've asked this before I sent my pm...)

    Tough Integration problem

I got -2/pi... It seemed straightforward to me, maybe I'm doing it wrong. Scratch that. Read it wrong.

    SHM question

You can define x=0 as being the equilibrium position. It doesn't say when x=3cm, v=4cm/s - instead it says 3cm from the equilibrium position, so you can define the equilibrium position as being any value of x. Also, even if you could only assume it was at x=b there's no reason that b would have...

    MX1 to MX2 Difficulty?

If you understand what you're doing (i.e. not blindly applying formulas) and do the homework it's quite easy to do well in. Plus, the scaling's insane.

What will you do after HSC finishes?

go clubbing wif da boiz, makeout sesh wif da gurlfrend But seriously, going to organise a camping trip for the week after exams - go up near woy woy/terrigal and just swim, eat, drink on the beach for a week. Then I'll probably start tutoring more, like 2-3 students per day as opposed to 1 per...

In terms of years, what HSC papers does the Pheonix Past papers topic by topic cover?

Re: In terms of years, what HSC papers does the Pheonix Past papers topic by topic co Success One and MANSW both have books that have the most recent papers. They're the same price but one (can't remember which) has more papers in it.
