    silly trig question

I think the rule you're thinking of is tan(x) = sin(x)/cos(x) but that doesn't apply in this case. Do what ssglain said and draw a triangle with opp 6 and adj 7 and then work it out.

    Chemistry-CrudeOil

Hmmm fractional distillation is the only widely used method that I've encountered. Unless the questions is asking about separation of different length hydrocarbon chains (catalytic and thermal cracking) I'm not really sure I've heard of a widely used method. Sorry

    Modern History Studying Tips

Re: How do you study for modern? Hahaha i hear you...my notes on Communist Russia are currently at 120 pages....I'm trying to cut the down though. I usually make two sets of notes. One ridiculously detailed bunch with heaps of quotes, dates and other rubbish in there and then another much...

    Urgent!! Formulas in test!!

But be careful with that...they sometimes ask questions using formulas that aren't specifically on the data sheet but that can be derived by mixing equations and stuff. Remember the 5 equations of motion though, it saves a heap of time than looking in the back. Basically anything you use a fair...

    recent discoveries of elements

in 2000 a group of Russian scientists discovered ununhexium, Produced by nuclear fusion of Ca-48 with Cm-248. Only lasted for 47 milliseconds though before going back to ununquadium (no. 114). Only 3 atoms of it have ever been made though.

    need help

For Question 1 there are a fair few answers you could give. A couple of potential responses are...g forces would tear the satellite apart as the instantaneous velocity jump would be too great, 8 km/s is a lot to ask for from a cannon (thats the minimal specific velocity required to put something...

    School Captains!

Hey I'm a school captain on South Coast of NSW and am pretty into the whole green power thing. But as wuddie said, its incredibly expensive. Instead I've lobbied my principal and got him to get the school to buy green power from their energy company (if all your homes aren't on green power...

    Notes: Typed Or Written?

I download the syllabus for each of my subjects and type my notes up for each dot point. As you can imagine they're reasonably extensive notes, so before exams i go through my notes and hand write summaries of it to lock the important points in my brain. So I'm a mix of both. And there are more...

Vlass of '07' lets be different and tell us your text

Hey y'all, I'm doing Immigrant Chronicle as my prescribed text, probably do Road Not Taken with Wind of the Willows as a back up, (RNT really does not fit into some questions). I've got Journey of the Magi as one related text but need to find another one as good as that. NOT POETRY...

    Help Required!!!

Someone else may want to correct me if I'm wrong, but this is my understanding of how it's done... i) This is very similar to a normal integration question. In this instance though, you need to rearrange the equation so that you can integrate with regards to y. ie... y^2 = 3x - 5 y^2 + 5 =...

    simpson rule

Do people know the process of calculating UAI's with regard to doing 11 units. I do ten 2 unit subjects plus extension maths. If I go well in extension maths will they average it with my 2U mark to bring it up? What's the deal with this?

    Real UAI requirements

Hey Guys (and gals), Interesting news with the real UAI's...at the moment I'm looking at doing International Studies at UNSW, USYD or ANU....UAI's ranging from 90 - 97. Can anyone give me a prediction of a UAI based on these results that i've been getting/can reasonably expect to get in the...
