I used a combination of notes from BoS, online resources + MIT/youtube videos to help me cover a large extent of the syllabus.
As for pracs, obviously I didn't do them, so skipped that part
Hey dude, I was thinking perhaps I should finish both T1 & T2 topics before starting on papers.
Other BoSers recommend getting the edge by consolidating the whole year's syllabus during the holidays
What are your thoughts?
Whilst OP's advice is solid, it is important to note that this NOT a guide. It's advice (ie. a compilation of opinions)
Doing well is doing what you do (not simply what others do) to the best of your capabilities. (Cliche, ironic and hypocritic? lol)
Oh, and beast the hsc. It's an examination...
You need to keep your head high and grind everything that you see.
There's no miracle mate, you get out what you put in (with some solid strategies ofc).
So my first term exams for 4U,3U and 2U maths is right around the corner.
Since there's hardly any content, it makes it hard to find relevant past papers to grind, and the ones that I do find only have very simplistic questions.
Just wondering what's the best strat going in for first terms. :D
Well, here's an approach.
Step 1: Attempt a past paper with no restrictions on time. Circle any questions you cannot do (surely you can do the first quarter without any problems; if you can't, then you probably do not have a strong grasp on fundamental concepts).
Step 2: DO NOT LOOK AT...
From your formulas (e.g. Vy=Uv+at) you can see that time is dependent on the value of acceleration. Thus, in the formula for calculating range (delta(x)=Uxt) the range will change depending on time :D
Find what works for you. Try no notes for one semester and with notes the other (only if you're in prelim, don't take risks during HSC lol).
I personally never write anything - I just sit in class, absorb information and process what the teacher is saying. Then I go home and grind homework +...
Sup ;D
Was wondering if you'd consider selling me your resources (such as notes, homework, quizzes etc.)? I'd like to individually challenge myself during the HSC year - so tutoring and mentoring aren't really my thing (even though your tutoring sounds extremely helpful :haha: )
So yeah, if...
First and foremost, I've received the following marks for my preliminary year (School rank ~300)
(Out of whole cohort)
Eng Adv: 7th
Maths 2U: 1st
Maths 3U: 1st
Physics: 1st
Chemistry: 3rd
Economics: 2nd
(Also doing 4U maths in year 12)
So yeah, I'm gonna go for a state rank(s) but...
