    Probability Help!!!!!!

He is a she!! :( Please check the gender. And, yes I made a boo boo, sorry. It would have been easier to do the 1-P(A) anyway. At least I got more right than the last chap ;) Thanks for the answers. My answers are fixed now. And, you can't just stay exclusively to the Product Rule. Other...

Why do so many people boast about their UAI?

It's a very Aussie thing to bring someone down for being proud of their hard earned achievements. Congrats to those who got a great mark, no matter where that lies in the scheme of things. Because great is relative, depending on only one thing - YOU! I have a friend who was happy with her...

    Probability Help!!!!!!

Let's have a go then. THe trick is thinking of all the possibilities and then using a probability tree. If you haven't learnt about probability trees, yet, look them up because they make these sorts of things SO easy. (Now, I hope I'm right or I'll look like a right nong.) 1. v) Primes are 1...

is my creative 'belonging' story idea suitable?

Why not something a bit out there: - Autistic boy belonging in a non-autistic world (or Aspergers). - Gifted person belonging in a non-gifted classroom. - A gifted person belonging in a class filled with people who go to coaching clinics. - An older person belonging in a younger person's world...

    should i drop extention maths?

Also, perhaps form a study group of other students who may be feeling a little lost. Together you CAN nut it out (try and include at least one person who knows what they're doing if you can) because you will all have different strengths and weaknesses. Synergy is a wonderful thing. You all need...

    Aether Question

HAHAHAHAH "As we know now". Thanks for proving my point. But do we know that? Or is that what we seem to observe because the changes in it now are so minute? Could it be that light travelled faster in the past and now we are on the hyperbolic tangent where the change is undetectable?? Open...

    Aether Question

Just as an aside and to get you thinking... That is the definition of the aether, and we all "know" (because scientists always work in absolutes when they are dealing with theories) that is was proven to be "wrong". BUT what if the definition was slightly altered? What if they were looking for...

Tell me school! What do you want!

You see, this is the problem with school today (and Universities): original thought and ideas are not encouraged. They expect everyone to fit into a certain box in terms of thought and style (mostly a certain political and sociological leaning, but I won't get into that). It should be that they...

    Hybrid mediums / Tutors

Just on word limits. There is an easy way to cut the words. 1. Anything that has "ly" at the end of it, can probably get cut. Adverbs are considered poor writing technique. 2. Ask yourself if you are telling much about the action. Is some of it implied and could you leave it out. eg. He walked...

Strike on the first two days of school (2009)

Look, I would still let the school know that you are coming back late and do the right thing. If teachers do the wrong thing and strike, then you just heap coals on their bad behaviour by behaving in a proper manner. The strikes are silly. Back the bad old days of former Labor governments...

The King School Why so much

The same reason some people pay $120 000 for a car when a $20 000 car will do the same job.

    How to think of idea?

I have written stuff in the dark onto notepaper by the bedside. I can mostly read it in the morning, each line scrawled on top of the last LOL. But think of poor JKR. She had NOTHING to write her idea on for hours on the train. And so she had to embellish and ponder on it until she could get to...

    Science Fiction texts?

What have you sacrificed for the HSC this/next year.

Please, don't anyone give up sport! You need a physical outlet for stress. If anything, take up more! It really clears the mind and helps you study. But giving up some TV is a good thing - mind you, there is so much nonsense on free to air. Maybe give up Cable TV. It'll be cheaper too. ;)

    Binomial Theorem help

(3-x)(4+x)^5 In the same manner as the previous answer. Expand out the question. 3(4+x)5 - x(4+x)5 To get the term with x4 for the first half of the expression use the binomial theorem: 3.5C1.41. x4 and the second half is the binomial theorem x3 term because it is multiplied by...

    Science Fiction texts?

What, you don't know Jules Verne or you don't think he wrote Sci-Fi. He was the pioneer, before the genre Sci-Fi even existed! His Wiki page says this: Now if that isn't Sci-Fi then I'm a kangaroo's joey. Read his Wiki page and it will also tell you that he predicted air conditioning, the...

What do your teachers think of us???

As a former teacher, I was active, out there telling my students about this palce. Most seemed to know about it, BUT others frantically wrote down the web address. I am all for a forum where HSC students can share their thoughts, resources and such. This is the world we live in and why not use...

    Lack of Motivation?

I think it's pretty hard on you guys to be expected to turn around and begin a whole new year of study when you've just put the hard yards into completing the last year. And there is no break. That would lead to some major lack of motivation. I guess you need to just take this weekend, treat...
