    King Lear Production Contexts

Kozintsev's Korol Lir was a Marxist production set in the anachronistic world of Russia. The production makes comment on 1971 Russia but was set way back when. Scene's such as the opening one where the castle kinda looks like it was on fire is an allusion to the Kremlin and an attack on the...

    Keep Exam?

I don't think they sit the exam if they lodge a misadventure appeal. They just get their assessment mark or something.

    some nuclear chem help :/

Alpha is extremely ionising and isn't used so much as it is fairly non-penetrating Beta is used for treatment as it is partially ionising Gamma is used for diagnosis and any type of imaging work

Why is KING LEAR so EFFINN HARDDDD!!!

Yeah that sounds ok. And you're right. The 2001 (?) question on productions was back when they liked to focus on the play in production. They've moved right away from that now and in fact will be removing productions from the 2009 syllabus. Having said that you should still try to refer to 2...

Are The Different Interpretations That Important??

Used in Trial Essay which focussed on the sub plot. This brings in my own opinion, supported by critical interpretations and dealing with how such an interpretation disturbs textual integrity. I would then go on from there to explore how the theme of redemption is reified in various...

Why is KING LEAR so EFFINN HARDDDD!!!

That's all very well....but to say not to refer to critical interpretations at all is somewhat misleading. It's only when the readings become a barrier to what you're trying to say that there is a problem. They have said this in the markers comments for the last few HSC's. Argument should be...

lose mark by describing 3 texts when asked CHOOSE TWO?

Yeah you should always mention techniques...except on the identify questions And they'll only mark you on the first two texts u mention

    Left Handers

I'm left handed and don't really find I struggle more than anyone else to write fast. I tend to write slwer in HSC though as quality > quantity. Don't let my essays go over 1000 words usually. Still get band 6. You don't HAVE to be able to write fast ...still got writers cramp though :burn:

Dear HSC - A Letter to BOS

Fairly shit...there have been better ones written in the past

    gulp..

I'd say so....it kinda implies that the quote should be in ur story somewhere

    Supplementary Material

:) The Alchemist.....so so good....for physical as well And I used Road Not Taken....was ok...not brilliant tho....but it worked

    Physical Journey: Unexpected Detours

Yeah that would change things....it just depends in how much depth u answered the questions...with 3 PS texts im not sure u could have gone into too much depth but really, it's hard to tell without seeing it As long as you had a reasonable link to the question and used heaps of techniques etc...

    Section 1

    romantic notions of the journey
  14. M

    Physical Journey: Unexpected Detours

Probably not above a band 4 as you don't have a related text
  15. M

    Physical Journey: Unexpected Detours

I wouldn't get too caught up in what's right and worong...it is english after all, as long as you argued correctly with plenty of evidence to support your thesis Alternatively you could be completely wrong
  16. M

    Physical Journey: Unexpected Detours

No I didn't just spew out a generic essay....but I do agree that section 1 was hard....did anyone else notice the drought of techniques???
  17. M

    Physical Journey: Unexpected Detours

Hi Ant  But I didn't think it was too bad. Imo detour = obstacle and my generic essay had all been about challenges and obstacles. True that it was hard to adapt to Skrzynecki but I used Feliks and Leaving Home and said that he'd lost control/ownership of the journey and deviated off his...

Anyone thinks they have killed the test

pwned it....that was one of the easiest papers....unexpected detours, pretty much another word for challenges....and those quotes were so easy to incorporate into a creative writing. What was with that first text though, the poster...did it even have anything to do with journeys???

    UAI helppp!!

Doubt it.... <50 imo...you'd have to improve all of those marks significantly to have a hope of getting above 60. And if they are the marks you can get in ur HSC then no you will not get 60.

is ENGRISH marked in one big marking centre?

He may well be marking a part but their not split up and sent. There is a marking centre at Homebush with ~ 7000 teachers who mark bundles according to the centre where they are sat. ie All the papers from your school are sent to a teacher (or 2 if u have a large cohort) to mark all of Section X
