    You don't HAVE to drop any of your subjects, if you enjoy them and are doing well in them. The only reason they recommend that you drop a subject or two is because you're only required to complete 10 units for your HSC. However, most people have an extra unit or two for back up.

    My free periods were beneficial, ONLY when I was by myself. If I had even one friend with me, my free periods were always wasted.

    Modern History OR Software?

    Modern history is simple enough, provided that you put in the effort to understand the content. Once you've got a grasp of the topics you're learning, it's fairly simple. It helps to enjoy history aswell.
