    A good nights rest.

Sleep at 10. But before 10, spend an hour or two reading a book. It's a good chance to read your school's Advanced English texts so basically you're killing two birds with one stone :) Anyways, I always end up feeling sleepy after an hour of reading because my eyes are very tired and my brain is...

Typing notes from the HSC syllabus?

Here is what I do: Type my notes on the computer using a variety of resources (eg: textbooks) and make it as detailed as possible. During those weeks when assessments are coming up, I print my notes and try to memorise them. Then, I handwrite my notes in my own words on paper with how much I...

    Open High School?

I did OHS for Japanese Beginners but dropped it. You have to do everything on your own and basically once a week, you have a phone call chat with them for around 10-30 minutes, depending on how well you know your work. You must be really really independent and must be eager to do the work...

Is it possible to "catch up".

That sentence really motivated me, because yes, like you've said, there is no such things as silly mistakes. I realised that the reasons why I know I didn't do well was because I didn't think my questions through properly. And thank you everyone for your insightful comments.

Is it possible to "catch up".

Is it possible to "catch up" after your first HSC assessment and then overall get a good rank? I know it sounds stupid but I'm about to finish my first assessments but for all the assessments I've done so far I feel like I did not do as well as I thought I could (mostly due to silly mistakes)...

    Stupidest Test

You should talk to the headteacher because if you weren't told in the assessment notification that you are not being assessed on 'Blueprint of Life' but the exam contained questions on the module, then it is quite unfair regardless that the whole class was in the same boat as you.

    Misanthropic novels?

Hey, I was wondering if anybody can recommend me some misanthropic novels that they have read or novels which have a misanthropic character in it? I just read Catcher in The Rye and I really liked the way Holden's social isolation is presented. But yeh, please recommend me some misanthropic...

    Simple Ethanol solvent question

The last sentence already shows you that you have answered your own question. But to answer your question, the answer is (B) as ethanol is most widely used as a polar solvent (hence it can dissolve in water) and be used in other products such as deodorants and pharmaceuticals.
