Losing 30% for not handing in a book?

That's not very fair but something similar happened at my school where the teachers lost an exam paper and the boy was given the average mark (from 75% down to 60%). The system is weird and in the higher years, some students learn how to play with it. There was a teacher who handed an exam...

Lord of the Flies by William Golding

Yes. I did it in Year 8. It's quite a frightening book. :p The worst part was Piggy's death. It's horrific reading about young kids engaging in such violent acts. You'll get over it soon :) Personally, I actually liked the book because every part of it made me keep reading.

    Modern History or economics?

Both require a great deal of essay writing. Modern History is more interesting :) I'd go with Economics if you're better at it.. but if you just want fun, then do Modern :p

    Birthdays ruined by SC!

The SC shouldn't be a reason to stop you from celebrating your birthday :p Hit your books at an earlier time then. One day before the exam should be dedicated to fun and games.

    Usefulness and Reliability

Re: The Reliability Of Sources; How To Determine Reliability/Usefulness? You need to know the date of the source and the author (including who the author is and how they were involved in the event or knew about it). Primary sources are not always reliable. In a study of Alexander the Great...

    living without a father

My parents aren't divorced, but due to complications in getting to work, my father has to live elsewhere. I see him every week. :p However, our relationship has strained and we hardly say anything when we see each other. I think the absence of a fatherly figure in my life has forged permanent...

Science Help - Designing an Investigation

If you have to design an experiment, that means you don't have to include results, conclusion and discussion. It is just a plan of how you are going to do the experiment. Include an aim, hypothesis, method and diagram. Correct me if I am wrong, but this is just how we did it in our yearlys...

The History Teachers' Association of NSW Competition.

Oh yeah, that competition. It was a pretty hard test. There were so many questions I guessed! This test was supposed to give us a general idea of what the SC would be like. Btw, the award is so cheap! It's like as if they just printed it out and wrote our name in some texta. I got a...

    Some one make me motivated.

Get your parents to scream at you. It works. Well, I don't get my parents to scream at me.. they scream at me on their own accord. That usually makes think, 'F..off you retards. I'm smart, you're not.' Usually makes me want to study, study, study. Stupid Asian parents. :p

If you get a UAI of 30.

My mum would literally kill my anyway. But if I managed to escape, I'd do the HSC again :) I hate my cynical Asian parents. I could cry for hours because of their pressure. I don't think I'll get a UAI of 30 anyway

    Subjects for yr 11

You did not read my previous post. Let me make this clear: I AM NOT INTENDING TO STUDY 16 UNITS. MY SCHOOL TIMETABLE WONT FIT THAT ANYWAY. THE SUBJECTS I LISTED WERE SUBJECTS THAT STUDENTS OFTEN FIND INTERESTING.

    SC Monitors are they strict???

I think our own teachers would be more strict. In year 9, there was a guy who scribbled his name on his test paper after the teacher said pens down. He got five marks deducted. Recently (in our trial SC), there was a student who had marks deducted for having his watch on his wrist during the...

How confident do you have to be to do English Ext 1??

Heaps of people are doing English Extension 1 + Mathematics Extension 1. It shouldnt be too bad :) With English Extension 1, do it. I heard it has the best texts out of the English courses.
