    Studying psychiatry?

Can anyone explain to me the pathway to studying and getting a degree in psychiatry? Im hoping to get into unsw med next year as an undergraduate. Would I complete my 6 years, then specialise in psych while working?

    Thicker wires for lower voltage?

Great explanation, thanks. I had the right idea in my mind but got it mixed around somehow.

    Thicker wires for lower voltage?

In transformers, if the output voltage is lower than the input, it has a thicker wire. Why? The question popped up in a paper I was doing, the answers say: "Output has lower voltage but higher current so needs thicker wire." I mentioned the higher current, but said that the wire provides...

    Post-trials ATAR estimate - can I get a 99 ATAR?

My total assessment mark for Physics is 87.3, hopefully with more focus on it I'll hit high 80s in the HSC exam

How much do we need to know about the Manhattan Project?

The dot point says to assess its significance to society. Is it enough to know 5 positive impacts and 5 negative impacts? We also learnt a timeline of the main events in class, but is that really necessary to what the syllabus asks for?

Pauli's Contribution to the Atomic Theory?

One of the dot points tells us to assess Pauli's contribution to the development of the atomic theory. I've read over a few sets of notes and they all speak about the same things - the Exclusion Principle; how two electrons cant have the same set of quantum numbers, etcetc. For some reason I...

Random question: Is it possible for someone to do both 4U English and 4U Maths?

The question popped into my head a while ago. I heard its allowed, but you'd have to do 12 units. Is that true?

    UMAT 2015 Discussion Thread

Tbh i felt fairly good with section 3. There were a few where I has to guess between 2/3 options but most were fine. Section 2 tho, Im not feeling too confident. I wasnt really sure of a lot of answers from that section, but we'll see how it goes. Im happy I managed to get through everything...

    UMAT 2015 Discussion Thread

One pattern they used often, for the pick the middle questions, where there were squares that had 4 shapes in them: Between each two squares, the shapes inside would rotate clockwise one position, then each time a shape reached a certain spot (eg the top left quarter of the square), it would...

    UMAT 2015 Discussion Thread

She was optimistically thinking that she and her husband(?) were finally getting along on a project, but she was naive in that they actually werent getting along - they were painting different patterns

    Umat 2015

Yeah Ive done most of the MedEntry papers but that was vompletely different, much harder I thought. I reckon I did okay on Section 3, but Section 2 killed me

    UMAT formati?

I've heard some different things, so can someone clarify the format of the UMAT? All the questions are mixed up, right? How many questions are there and how much time is allowed?

Consistently getting around 75% in different UMAT practice tests. Is that any good?

Re: Consistently getting around 75% in different UMAT practice tests. Is that any goo Percentage. No idea on percentiles, Im getting the questions off a friend so I cant put my answers into the MedEntry papers to get a percentile

Consistently getting around 75% in different UMAT practice tests. Is that any good?

I've done a range of different papers from different sources, including MedEntry. Basically all of my marks are following in a range of 70-80%, with most being at around ~75%. How good is that? How can I expect to translate in the actual UMAT?

What type of raw marks should I be aiming for in the umat?

So when I'm doing practice papers, how am I meant to know how well I'm doing? If, for example's sake, I get a 40/45 for a section 1, how am I meant to know how that translates to their "overall score" and if I'm doing well or not?
  19. M

What type of raw marks should I be aiming for in the umat?

I'm hoping to get into UNSW. If, say, I were expecting an ATAR of ~97, I'd need around a ~90 percentile umat mark to score an interview, am I right? So going by that, what type of raw marks should I be aiming for? Cheers

Need help modelling the behaviour of semiconductors...

I would rather do something that doesn't involve having to use other students as props, tbh
