belonging related text - "The Turning" by Tim Winton . Help !

I think 'The Turning' is a great novel and probably a good text choice. I haven't read 'As You Like It' though. The Turning seems to focus more on the opposite of belonging, alienation. All characters experience some sort of 'turning' in their lives that may or may not lead to growth. One...

    poem for Belonging

Try T.S. Eliot. I can't specify anything since I haven't looked, my assessment requires a text published within the last twelve months. They're classics so they look good. Though depending on what you're looking for, or if you want something in plainer English, have a look at this list...

Yeah, thanks, I've been looking for feature articles, I've found some that represent belonging though do not have links to my core text, The Crucible. Finding something published within the last 12 months with similar themes or messages as the Crucible is a bit of a long shot, but I'm giving...

Lol, the race mix in my year group is maybe 5 anglo-saxons. Maybe a little bit of an underestimate but there is maybe 10% that are from the uk initially.

what subjects do i pick for yr 11 and 12

Economics is a good subject, you learn a lot about how the world works. It can be heavy at times, lots of content and you have to keep up to date with affairs and statistics. If you're a numbers and graphs sort of person, definitely go for it. If you enjoy and are good at maths (yr 10 5.3...

Women who wear burkhas on the street in France face fines of more than £700

That 'itty bitty piece of cloth' is a complete head-covering black shroud with mesh over the eyes. http://sheikyermami.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/burka_graduation.jpg Nakedness is illegal, and now the opposite is. On the other hand, any person can be naked, whereas only women wear the...

    political correctness

I have an example. My disclaimer is that I haven't backed it up with any research, it's just what my environmental science teacher told us, unless he's having us on. Hurricanes, yeah? We all know they give each one a name. Katrina, Rita, Jeanne, etc. Turns out that some American lobbying...

    I need to read something.

Yes actually, I do. Plath had extreme bipolar disorder, was hospitalized and recieved shock therapy multiple times throughout her life. She unsuccessfully attempted suicide by crawling beneath her house when she was twenty- as she records in her poem Lady Lazarus- 'The second time I meant...

    Fat Tax

Not going to happen, ever. People that are fat due to medical conditions/disabilities etc etc wouldn't be able to comply. Old people can't lose weight, young people are robbed of their freedom and poor people are ripped off by the system (again and again so it seems). Once I saw this...

What happens if i save all my centrelink payments?

You're probably asking the wrong people. IF you don't want to be abused, do the common sense thing and jump on the Centrelink website or call them. Problem solved, most kids on bos aren't financial advisors aye.

    I need to read something.

You mentioned Burroughs- I've read 'Junky', the blurb describes it as 'a dark, powerful and mesmerizing account of one man's challenge to turn self-destruction into art.' It's about drug addiction, obvs. Shocked America at the time, and is very easy to read. Like A Clockwork Orange it has its...

Most Outstanding Year 11 Student Scholarship

I've got the form in front of me now and under terms and conditions it specifies that the offer is 'subject to obtaining an ATAR of 90 or above' and that 'Regional and Bonus Points will not be considered.' I hope this answers your question.
