    Mandatory Internet Censorship in Australia

You have a lot more faith in the voting public than I do. Given how little the people care about political issues or even current affairs (outside of "A Current Affair"), I tend to think that they'll fall for the first manipulative propaganda line they see and accordingly. I'd like to be wrong...

    Should we introduce one-word exams?

Urban legends. And both would've been instant fails, seriously. lol I'm almost tempted to start a sample thread of one-word essays... But god knows we all have ADHD attention spans and no one will read what anyone else's written...except...maybe the current HSC English Extension 2 kids? :D

    God has no merit

I'd trumpet the first reason and keep mum on the latter - more developed cultures tend to stop popping out so many kids... Not hatin', just sayin'. Yes, but god conveniently forbade you from questioning any potential fallacies in his logic, so sit down and shut up. :D

    Volunteering for students

Have you considered rallying support with existing groups instead of starting your own? My feeling is that having too many groups with good intentions will dilute the overall effort and hamper effectiveness...

    Fuck Rudd is a dickhead

THIS. Not necessarily true. The fall-out from mismanagement and accidents could be more devastating than all the pollution generated by coal. I'm all for more sustainable sources of energy, but we've got to be careful in assessing our options. moll. for PM? Honestly, you'd think someone up...

    UNSW Tips & Tricks?

Yup. Come hang out with the all-night crammers. :bat: There used to be WoW kids as well, the couple of times I pulled all-nighters, but WoW seems to have died off... It used to be called Tasty Bites and was tres dodgy. I still wouldn't touch it now, mostly because of a deadly allergy to puns...

    Best part of your relationship

The benefits of indentured servitude, minus the ethical quandaries: "Baby, I forgot my keys/umbrella/pants...could you, uh, do something to remedy the situation?" "Let's spend the day in the outer suburbs and make fun of poor people." "Sex. NAO." Etc. Teen pregnancies + weddings = class. ;)

Dear lefties, Rudd is a CRIMINAL who has BETRAYED you

Ooh, I love ideological warfare! Especially the bit where everyone forgets how to critically assess all political theories, falling back instead on party lines. *thumbs up*

Would you rather stand out, or blend in?

We're all unique and special and beautiful individuals with utterly original and profound insights to share about the human condition. Let's swap LiveJournals and jerk off while reading each other's poetry. :) Pro-tip: This stuff's okay for when you're 12-years-old and have just discovered...

What? If it is then it's pretty subtle...

    Should we introduce one-word exams?

It won't necessarily be the same as crapping on, if you're well-informed and rationale enough to write a sustained and substantiated opinion piece. It'll be more difficult to mark than standardised tests, but maybe as a supplementary assessment?

Dear lefties, Rudd is a CRIMINAL who has BETRAYED you

Good point. He needs a crash course, and I know just the people for the job...

    Mandatory Internet Censorship in Australia

They know about computers? o_O? Fair enough. But what makes you feel so assured that abuse of power won't be an issue? Lemon, you seem to be continuing your support of the proposed filter despite clear, repeated explanations of: The fact that child pornography often travels via methods not...

    Should we introduce one-word exams?

From the New York Times: Oxford Tradition Comes to This: ‘Death’ (Expound) Oxford Tradition Comes to This - ‘Death’ (Expound) - NYTimes.com The exam was simple yet devilish, consisting of a single noun (“water,” for instance, or “bias”) that applicants had three hours somehow to spin into a...

    Depression

+1 As some of the other guys have posted, do seek professional advice. Not only will you be able to get more appropriate help this way, you should also be eligible as a result for extensions on assessments, etc. Being able to talk through some of your feelings with friends is probably a good...

    Why I hate Nokia now...

^ This. Nokia's designs are solid and the batteries tend to last well. There's also none of Apple's wank-factor. :) That said... The Symbian OS needs to die. Pronto. Ovi needs to follow Apple's lead and start putting out a wider selection of decent apps. Is Android the way out?

    general UNSW chit-chat

There's also some new study area on the ground floor? And...electronic catalogues? When did this all happen? *grabs passer-by* WHAT YEAR IS THIS?!! The main ones break down on a two-week cycle and the rickety old one on the other side of the building is a death-wish. Sticking to the stairs is...
