Economics or Studies of Religion? (Year11)

SOR 2 is apparently a really interesting course. However, it is very content filled. Eco is useful if you want to do business and such. What course are you looking at??? Eco would be more useful in most situations unless you're leaning towards philosophy, medicine, psychology or something...

    OHS Japanese Continuers???

I'm going to a new school and they don't have a Japanese cont. class (...plenty of beginners though... -.-) so if i want to do it, it'll have to be through OHS. They said our Jap teacher can help me if i have question about the OHS work, but i'm worried that if it turns out to be a bad that...

    anyone do Japanese ?

do you like doing continuers through OHS? Is it really hard to learn 'on your own'?? I can't decide whether to do it or not since my new school doesn't have enough numbers to run the class... :'( the other thing is I'd have to cut either Modern history or Physics... btw my aim is medicine...

    art works returned!

You should have been notified today if your nomination has been confirmed, or you got in to ArtExpress. 7 girls out of the 11 nominated from my school got in :D so proud of them!

What you doing for the rest of the term?

yea, it's a year 10 topic, but we were slow finishing the 5.3 course because they spent like a whole half a term on revising for SC -.-. Waste of time! But we're only spending 3 lessons on logs so it's all good. At the same time though we doing an algebra booklet of harder applications of 'year...

    Maths -Vs- Science

Oh, thank God. I really hate sitting in maths learning stupid proof and then they say 'apply it' coz I'm like when are we ever going to use this. The answer is always engineering -.- Now that we are doing basic prelim skills i see where maths is now connecting with science- makes life a whole...

What you doing for the rest of the term?

Maths is the only thing we learn anything. They split us up into our classes for next year like maths and ext 1 where we're doing logarithms. Yay -.- while those doing no maths play games. Science- we're building an 'eco house'. such a bludge. English- comparative study of novels and film...

    OHS languages

i think i'll give it s go. Hopefully i get one of the more qualified teachers. Now, to pick something to drop -.-. joy.

    Maths -Vs- Science

I reckon! This is freaky- same views and essentially the same subjects :O We'll probably meet one day and be like, 'oh, i actually know you!' ahahah
  10. E

    Maths -Vs- Science

which is why maths sucks. What a time waster. Knowledge is more valuable than letters and *some* numbers -.-. No one's going to be like ' tell me the simplified logarithim of xjigifn (i know, couldn't be bothered to write one...).

    Maths -Vs- Science

haha, seems we're alike in a lot of ways LHS. and Utopianradical - totally agree with the creativity thing, because if that didn't exist those physicists at uni wouldn't be able to play around with lego to make stuff :P
  12. E

    Maths -Vs- Science

I proved it in my science investigation assessment :P lolls yea, but i know other tests are inconclusive

    Maths -Vs- Science

Just out of curiosity, is there anyone out there who absolutely loves science (or likes science) subjects but hates math/ not very good at maths??? ^ This is me all over and I've been told that it's something to do with being ambidextrous or something, like since i can use both hands for...

    Favourite Subjects?

My favourite is Science but I'm way better at Visual Arts and English.... yet I hate VA now seeing as it is monotonous and just not interesting anymore, hence i didn't pick it for prelim.

    Preliminary and HSC: Physics (96), Chemistry (96), Biology (95), Maths (97) --> $25/h

Re: Preliminary and HSC: Physics (96), Chemistry (96), Biology (95), Maths (97) --> $ wow :O I've never seen anyone get a HSC mark of 96 for physics or chem :O :O it's always around 90...

    OHS languages

Thanks so much for the replies! :) I don't know if it's 'safe' enough to take up though... The predicament is that I'm leaving my current school, which is running the Japanese continuers course, to a selective school; However only one other and myself expressed interest and therefore it was...

    is physics hard?

my teacher says anyone with good logic is capable. 'It's just common sense' - apparently... seems like twisted word problems to me :L year 12 also looks easier to follow and more interesting that yr.11.

CHALLENGE: Find someone who does the exact same subjects as me!

Try this: *Visual arts *Japanese Continuers *2U Maths *Eng Adv *Physics *SOR 1 *Chem *Bio *Ancient history ^ that would have been me at my current school. Seems like an odd combination I've been told... Now: modern, eng adv, eng ext 1, 2u maths, physics, bio, chem

ohh ok. You must be pretty smart, going into exams with pure natural ability. I usually do that but some times are more sucessful than others, depending on the creative energy i have that day; so if the HSC day creativeness is not so good... :L History Ext sounds interesting but maybe it'll...
