EAS still works for med candidates. So you can potentially get quite a lot of bonus points (I don't know what the maximum is but even I got 3 points approved for UNSW med).

Yeah that's a fair point and how ATAR should be interpreted as! High ATAR does not necessarily mean high intelligence, but I reckon it at least means more prepared for uni studies; unis thus use them. But that's why there's EAS and all that so the system can be fairer. But yep, you're right.

I got too used to the standards I see around me at uni lol. Most people seem to have high 90's ATAR (although can't always confirm unless they voluntarily say!). I guess standards are all subjective. Whether something is low or high depends on what one's aim is. You can expect to see lots of...

USYD only uses ATAR to invite candidates for interview. However, you need 99.95 so it's harder for most people to get into USYD med than other med schools.
