    Capture recapture Q

btw, did you guys get taught this population size estimation as a single 'formula' that you need to memorise? I normally wouldn't call it a 'formula' to memorise. Let M=total number of tagged seals, m=number of tagged seals in the sample, N=unknown population size, and n=sample size. Then the...

Do most schools have people who leave 40-30 minutes early?

fair enough, although bio can be more difficult than that too! Q33 (genetics option)(c)(ii) of 2010 exam seems to be pretty challenging for bio students - but then a very small part of the exam and only for those who did the option anyway, point taken

Do most schools have people who leave 40-30 minutes early?

I just mentioned MX1 & 2 as they are sort of relevant (albeit remotely), but my main point was actually on phys and chem which have similar exam structures to bio but then I didn't do HSC bio myself so idk how easy/difficult the contents and the questions are usually

Do most schools have people who leave 40-30 minutes early?

yeah I know it wasn't directed to me, but still wanted to say it because I actually agree in many parts with lifeboat (and I reckoned that he wasn't bsing)

Do most schools have people who leave 40-30 minutes early?

yep, I do know this (although not explicitly mentioned by teachers) but the number of people who leave before the, say 2 hr mark, isn't that huge for subjects I did (MX1,2, phys, chem) in my hsc, I had to focus for the full time in both phys and chem and I reckon if i had more time, I could...

Do most schools have people who leave 40-30 minutes early?

not sure why that counts as bs-ing different people have different opinions, that's all her opinion may be that she regrets it, but it could have been that in fact, that hard year of work (and no socialising) did indeed open many doors (who knows) very difficult to argue with this kind of stuff...

Do most schools have people who leave 40-30 minutes early?

hmm wow, you mean you finished the paper and checked your answers 'heaps of times' (i assume >4) in 1.5 hours?! must be a genius, at least I can never do this

    Chemistry Marathon (HSC)

many people answer radioisotope questions in chem with Tc-99m Co-60 might have been what you learnt in chem at school, but is certainly not the 'regular' radioisotope to discuss so you'll be fine

    99.95

don't even need 100% in everything if with 90 english probably the safe level is around HSC marks of 98ish in high scaling subjects? idk (but that's actually far below 100% cause % implies raw)

    99.95

    definitely possible

    Stats & Maths

3 unit should be enough, although you may want to (and probably should) grab a 4 unit textbook and learn the integration bit (esp. integration by parts). Things like complex numbers in 4 unit aren't required as stats is (mostly) about real numbers.

    Stats & Maths

agreed with Trebla measure theory (3rd yr stuff) would also help, but not essential as far as undergrad stats is concerned

Is B.Pharm a good place to start if I want to find cures for diseases?

Re: I havent done any sciences, Should I still do b.pharmacy. just curious, how much adv stats is in pharm? I can't imagine there being too much of that.

    HSC 2012-2015 Chemistry Marathon (archive)

Re: HSC 2012 Chemistry Marathon The linearity of the final product when the Ziegler-Natta catalyst is used is a result of its reaction mechanism (enabled by the catalyst), rather than pressure or temperature. Back-biting is characteristic of LDPE radical polymerisation reactions, but this...

Is Medentry harder than the actual UMAT?

I quite strongly disagree with this, having done the test in 2009. Yes, medentry papers tend to be harder, but that's not the only thing that matters. Medentry's certainly were harder in my year than ACER's, but the two papers felt so different that the practice did not seem to be very...

    HSC 2012-2015 Chemistry Marathon (archive)

Re: HSC 2012 Chemistry Marathon hydrogen half cell* hydroxy or hydroxyl* Having wrong info is even more serious a problem. Low pressure doesn't account for the high density of the final product. It's the catalysis itself.

    Psychology

I don't know about the rest, but I'd have to agree with the bolded bit. I did PSYC1001, stuffed up the essay assessment (which was worth one quarter of the course) and got 67%, but with a couple of days of cramming, still got a HD because of that ridiculously easy final exam.
