How will you organize your stuff?

My advice would be to keep it simple, easy and logical. Extravagant plans are great in theory but once the assignments and tests come in you won't have time to waste. In year 11 I did exercise books with display folders for sheets. Display folders drove me insane and broke in my bag, so this...

    "study smart. not hard"

Its about all of the above, plus balance. studying smart is working hard in the day and then going out with friends or chilling in the evening, you'll be relaxed, refreshed and feel like you have a life yet productive

    requesting extra booklets

Just curiously, Ive read on the feedback to exams that many people ask for extra booklets for the core WW1 section. Is this allowed? Do they penalise you if you go beyond the "Question X stops here"? I get told off by my teacher for writing too much, so are they asking for a consice answer...

    Artexpress

I'm doing my HSC next year, and my vis arts teacher is the creative arts co-ordinator for my school. We always get at least 2 people in, but this year none. In our whole area, only one school got one student selected for artexpress. They found out at the beginning of the week. A lot of the works...

What should the '10 Year do right now?

Relax. Our teachers told us these holidays are very important so we dont get burnt out for year 12. Amongst all the sleep, movies etc, doing some light reading for english/history or thinking about ideas for major works and reading syllabuses is really all you can do and would definitely help...

    Prepared essays for english

What I do is beforehand create a very general thesis that is adaptable. I pick main themes that can adapt to questions and then I do dot points of quotes and effects under these themes. Prepare something that you think will work, but don't rely on this; have a general knowledge of the text...

    Organising Work (merged)

If pens can get a thread then stationery can too! What kind of books, folders, paper, organisation systems are people implementing as of next term for 2010 HSC?? I know the big binder with lined paper and dividers is popular, but doesn't the paper rip after a while and the lever thing...

NO MATH -(Yr 11-12) so ECONOMICS instead?

I don't do maths and i'm doing quite well in economics. If you know how to do a fraction and read a graph, then you will be fine.

Taking visual arts for HSC without taking it as elective...?

I'm doing art in year 11 now, and doing it in year 9 & 10 definitely helped, however, my school will allow you to do it in yr 11 whether you did it for an elective or not. As long as you have a reasonable amount of ability then you'll be fine. Just keep in mind, that it's 50% theory, and a lot...
