    The McDonald's Thread

I'm in the same position as you - been there two and a half years and absolutely hated it. Hoping to follow in your footsteps and quit soon (but hopefully find another job). Fuck I'm working there tonight

    Sportsgirl Group Interview

Thanks! I'm surprised I was even offered an interview tbh, my only experience is at maccas...

    Sportsgirl Group Interview

Hey guys, I've got a group interview for a Christmas casual at Sportsgirl coming up. Has anyone worked there or at least done an interview that can give me some idea of what to expect? (Any tips? :) ) Also, is it better to wear something from the brand or just anything suitably...

    Is chatswood library crowded?

It's nearly always crowded with several screaming babies in there.

What do you want to do as a Doctor?

Which unis have that combined degree program? I only know of Sydney, but I haven't really looked into med interstate yet. As for me, I think I'd like to do either pathology, psychiatry or emergency medicine.

    UNSW Med application

How much detail is needed for the responses? Like do you need to say why the two subjects were your most/least favourite and describe the work you've done etc or just list it?

    The Umat Results 2012.

Section I: 71 Section II: 53 Section III: 63 UMAT Overall Score: 62 Percentile Rank: 91 I'm happy enough :) I was kinda surprised though, I thought I failed section 1 and aced the shit out of section 3 - 3 was my best by far in the ACER practices I did.

Last FULL week of school for anyone else?

At the start of the year I thought I'd really miss high school - now I can't wait to leave... I should really learn some sentimentality one day.

Is cramming an effective study technique?

Generally no, but there are times when it can, depending on the person and the subject. I crammed for chem (14 hours of solid, efficient study the day before, including past papers) and physics (spread out over two days) for the trials which worked out great - but these are both subjects I'd...

    Is physics hard?

Just be aware that it's mostly history of science and the impact of shit on society, so it's really nothing like maths at all. Edit: But as the above poster said, it's not too bad if you apply yourself and the course content interests you.

Trial HSC - stressed or not?

The only one I really felt stressed for was English Paper 2, but now that that's over, I feel like all of the stress is gone. Not actually as good as it sounds - I'm just unmotivated now.

    Who memorises essays for english?

I used to never memorise them (pre year 12) and I still got much the same marks as now. I think I just feel safer having a vague idea (i.e. significant points with quotes + analysis) so that I'm not at a complete loss when I go in.

    Memorising essays for English

I usually have something vaguely memorised that can also be adapted fairly easily if I need to (which is most of the time)

    Is 4U really that hard

It's certainly not as hard as it's made out to be. Like everyone else has said, definitely give it a go.

UMAT - How many people at your school were away because of it?

Same with mine, I'm pretty sure we need a medical certificate if we want to miss school on the day before an assessment task. (Not sure if that includes friday but I suspect it might)
  16. Zeroes

    Umat day!!!!

Wait, do they still do that? Because some wrong answers are certainly a lot more reasonable than others. Also, I really don't think section 2 gives that good an indication of emotional intelligence/empathy or whatever (relevant for medicine). It only judges your ability to interpret emotions...

Trial HSC - stressed or not?

Nah. My whole grade is pretty chilled (read: lazy) and I think it's rubbed off on me. I feel pretty good about the trials tbh. (except english)

Can you say the word "belonging" in creative writing?

I think generally it's better to avoid explicitly using the word 'belonging' - or better still, show it, rather than directly stating it.

    Uni music degree auditions

Like my technique on the whole is pretty shit.

    Uni music degree auditions

Yeah I did them happily enough, but I managed to pass grade 8 without much actual talent for violin.
