Yes :) That was what I was thinking of too. I read this as , show honour and obedience to the authorities over you. It does not mean that slavery was what God wanted , or that slaves were regarded as inferior by God. Doesn't God also say that in Him there is neither slave nor free man?

Dude. Death and destruction came from God. He punished His people by allowing THEM to be enslaved by heathen countries. I dont think anyone denies it was in the Bible. Whether God thought it was a 'good thing' , is another matter.

I'm no bible scholar - but I don't think it is as cut and dried as that. Provide the verse , context of the verse and the 'historical context' (uh oh) and then interpret it's meaning.
