    Estimate your marks here

Just anxiety surrounding the fact that it's the HSC - the official exam. I know they always stress that they give marks based on merit but I have a feeling they're gonna fuck me over so hard. Hope not.

    Estimate your marks here

I'm hoping for that as well, but I have a feeling they're super hard markers.

    Estimate your marks here

I'd be cheering for an aligned mark of 95. I think I'll need 90/105 minimum to get an aligned mark of that sort.

Can you think and write quickly?

I can write and think at the same time, but its not unbelievably fast. I often go into an exam with a half memorised essay and the other half I improvise using the knowledge I already know.

Sorry I didn't see your comment. Yeah I am actually. Planning to do International Studies/Law and pick up a language. How'd you know?

    Does aos align?

Aligning and scaling are two different things. Aligning is administered by the Board whereas scaling is done so by UAC. Enoilgam or shadowdude are best to ask when it comes to these areas.

    A 'THESIS' question

I did what you do, but technically I don't think they can mark you down for doing so, unless you haven't sufficiently answered the question. But besides that, I think you should be able to get away with it but don't take my word on it.

    Hamlet

I talked predominantly about his death as Fortinbras was essentially talking about his death and related it to his madness (appearance vs. reality) and theme of the human condition.

Is it true 2 markers mark your papers?

Apparently, two markers mark the paper and if there is a large discrepancies (for example 17/20 and 9/20) it goes to the Senior Marker, whose judgment is final.

General Thoughts: English Advanced Paper 2

+1 I also said that the closing scenes were a partial response and indication of the text as a whole because the question allowed for some lee-way with the inclusion of "to what extent".

    Module B Hate Thread

The Board is probably raveling in enjoyment right now, fucking up the 2011 cohort.

    Module B Hate Thread

I personally think for the question on Hamlet, it was vague enough for you to get away with a response that encompassed themes. But don't take my word on it. I continuously referred back to the source, citing them in my topic sentences and during my analysis.

So since it's all over, thoughts on raw marks for band 6?

No idea whatsoever. Just having a guess. It might be lower than 79. Who knows.

So since it's all over, thoughts on raw marks for band 6?

I would have no clue. I dont think it will 79 like every other year. Maybe 80-82?

    How much did you write?

    Module A: 9 Module B: 8 Module C: 8

    Module B Hate Thread

Module B - Hamlet was a piss off, but it did give so many openings for various themes to be discussed. I just dealt with the human condition and humanism with the implications of death, cos of Hamlet dying and how he died because of his plan to be insane (weaved in appearance vs. reality)

    I am fcuking screwed

I think so. It's really up to their discretion. It's either a specific theme or a question regarding your interpretation demonstrating how the ideas and themes are 'memorable' or 'enduring'. I hope it's the latter... that's for sure.

    Raw Marks

Low 80s? Depends on the level of difficulty of Paper 2 though.
