    Should I go to Usyd?

I two-timed and have been at both. For your own sake, GO TO UNSW... unless you're exceptional, as in weird. Statutorily protected industrial action is no joking matter, and the disruptive effect that they have had at the University of Sydney is no joking matter either. These actions have...

Transfers, how do they really work?

The details are actually on the website. However, the short and skinny is if you obtain a Distinction average in an undergraduate course, you may be adequately competitive to transfer from your course to the University's combined LL.B. I believe that you don't need to be a University of Sydney...

    Law at Uni

What about your other subjects? As you are graded on a curve, what about the other students? What did they do? Edit: Hold on... you do Comm., not Law. I have an excellent comic for that. Basically, Business Law and Ethics isn't law. On behalf of everyone who's studying law and who has studied...

Selection of Major for Medical Science at USYD - ANAT or PHSI?

Grad. To do postgraduate (further) medicine, you first need to have a medical degree. Do whatever interests you or what best works for you. If medicine does not work out, would you be happy to do tech work or research (with some or all that those entail)? Briefly but not precisely, anatomy is...

    Law at Uni

Yeah. This a thousand times. One change, though: "more of an anxious mess" or "more of an psychological/emotional mess", unless you're one of those freaks in law school who are balanced or normal. The rest simply fake it till they make it. :)

    Should I go to Usyd?

Not at all. While some are suited to USyd and how things are there, I'd be remiss in not objectively as possible stating that admin and academics can be quite difficult. I forgot to advise that switching unis can be quite disruptive too. Of course, that's probably obvious to and appreciable...

Should I study law as a way to increase my employability?

Part of legal theory is, in some respects, similar to politics and political philosophy; but, as I have not studied politics and political philosophy, I can't exactly make that statement on valid grounds. As this could be an opportunity of a lifetime (and a dream to others) and could determine...

What combination should I do? Got combined law offer for 2014. So confused!

Depends on what you want. If making money is heavy on your things wanted list, do a B.Comm. and stay away from law itself. Get a law degree if you want. If you want to become an academic, a B.A. could be okay. Really depends on your law grades and what else you do and, again, what interests...

    JD entry.

Officially, there's no statement of whether there is scaling. However, I don't believe that there is scaling. You could game this by going to a less rigorous uni or other institution and do less rigorous courses. A lot of humanities/social science/arts types (self-)select into law, skewing the...

What's the difference between Mathematics and Advanced Mathematics?

Last I remember Adv. Maths is accelerated and more rigorous. You may also do Hons. and grad units in your first three years. Of course, Adv. Maths also means you must do a number of advanced units, whereas you may do advanced units in a B.Sc. in Maths.

If I don't have maths assumed knowledge for science courses

There's very little maths except in maths. In some disciplines or courses, there may be some basic arithmetic (e.g., dilution factors in biochemistry/chemistry, applying equations in physics). I do recall that physics used a little more maths. I recommend doing a bridging courses simply to...

Question regarding law and career opportunities

Right off the bat, I'm going to sternly advise against doing a degree in criminology. Unless that's precisely what you want and you want all that goes with that...

    Should I go to Usyd?

Don't stress (any more than you actually need to). Doing the B.Sc./LL.B., you're probably stressed enough! If I were in your situation, in light of what you've written, I'd stick it out at UNSW and simply switch science majors. Maybe there's a science major that's more completely catches your...

What should I combine law with at UNSW? I want to work in a corporate law firm

No strict formula for a corporate lawyer, but having good grades, glowing references, a solid interview, a sincere interest in corporate law work, etc. go a long way. A B.Comm. is thought to be beneficial, or at least traditional, as is a B.A. In my experience, however, firms are not as...

Is B.Pharm a good place to start if I want to find cures for diseases?

Not sure how many topics are in this thread but if you want to 'find cures for diseases', you could do a pharmacy degree. However, you could instead do some sort of science degree, possibly majoring in biochemistry, chemistry, immunology, pathology, among others, or a medical degree. It's almost...

Once you graduate are you technically a lawyer? or do you have take a bar exam like..

Re: Once you graduate are you technically a lawyer? or do you have take a bar exam li Correct. You must attend an adequate number of MCLE (Mandatory Continuing Legal Education)/CPD (Continuing Professional Development) units / hours / seminars per annum in order to renew your PC. Some seminars...

    Getting into radiology?

Depends on what you want to do. If it's radiology, which is distinct from radiography, do a medical degree and let no one dissuade in whatever way or stop you from realising this. You could of course do this and do a medical degree thereafter too! An M.Med.Phys. and M.Mol.Imag., I believe...

Law entry should be made harder

Well, the interview does screen out 1/3(?) of those to whom an interview offer is made. Honestly, I think Melbourne is not only the best law school in Australia but its selection process is the best, with its academic achievement, its statement/essay, and its LSAT components. It's a little...

How do you know if you will like law?

I'd hazard that most people either have rose-tinted glasses and live in the clouds prior to or at the beginning of their courses or dislike or even hate it. There is no definitive way of knowing whether you will like law, as every person and every case is different; however, some things that...
