Good idea, but only if you're doing it because you want to Just don't feel like you have to! when i get my textbooks I'll flick through them if I can be fucked (unlikely in the literal sense... :o lol ) and I'm currently reading Thomas Hardy's Tess of the d'Urbervilles because it's interesting...

yes, I'm Aussie ... I have an English (and some Scottish/Irish) background... but my family's been here for about 100 years lol Edit: O didn't your parents speak italiano to you when you were a baby? Or they did and you just couldn't separate it from the English? :/

Do HSC sciences need more maths?

lol, it sounded funny when I wrote it too :) I'm going to + rep you And BTW don't you just hate how 'rep' sounds like 'rape'? Makes me shudder ... ew... yuk :P

Do HSC sciences need more maths?

I guess... but 4U Mechanics sounds quite intense ... and 3U Projectile Motion isn't too soft either ...

Do HSC sciences need more maths?

Anyway, it seems that BoSers are in general agree that extension mathematics courses prepare you for a BE better than HSC physics. Oh and is it just me, or are the modules the Board of Studies chose for HSC chemistry really boring? And I have researched them... not just saying this for...

Do HSC sciences need more maths?

lol, that's good If you didn't know that you might make a crappy engineer haha Oh and... MY BAD :)

Do HSC sciences need more maths?

Well technically engineering is a science, but good on you. From reading Fitzpatrick 4U and Jacaranda HSC Physics... 4U Mechanics would be better, for sure Edit: Mechanics has some equations in it I can't even begin to comprehend HSC Physics has little red and white graphs of...

Do HSC sciences need more maths?

Assumed knowledge does not translate to "if you didn't do this you will do shit in the course for sure". I spoke to a person I know who does Physio at USYD, she's called Caitilin. She's told my mum or me (can't remember who) "physics is very helpful" - she did Year 11 physics only. She didn't...

Do people exaggerate the difficulty of the HSC?

YES agreed. People stress too much - even me probably! I say to people, "it's just as assignment, don't worry about it so much!" and they bite my head off

Do HSC sciences need more maths?

Sydney University accepts students into a Bachelor of Science (Physics) and a Bachelor of Advanced Science (Physics) even when they have not done HSC physics. It's not a requirement, after all, there are no prerequisites in this day and age (at least in New South Wales). For a Bachelor of...

How often do they do this?

:D LOL The different text types mentioned are actually easier to write than an essay dude

Do people exaggerate the difficulty of the HSC?

This is probably a question best asked in the Medicine/Medical Sciences tertiary study thread... or not. How much work does it take to get into medicine? I want to go to UWS for it, because it's a good course despite the stupid lies people spout off about UWS: "It stands for U Went Shit"...

Do people exaggerate the difficulty of the HSC?

I could get 87 for OT with straight-85s in all my subjects (but a lower mark in maths, about 80-82). But I'm not set on Occupational Therapy at USYD yet, I actually would like to be a General Practitioner one day, so I will put three medicine courses at the top of my preferences, do the UMAT...

Do people exaggerate the difficulty of the HSC?

Agreed. And that externals are state-wide tests, so they have to have "questions that cater for all levels of ability" which means quite a few simple ones, mainly moderate ones and only a few difficult ones! :)

Do people exaggerate the difficulty of the HSC?

I'm not saying it's easy, because it's not. But do you think the HSC will be super-hard like people make it seem? I'm aiming for an ATAR of 87 for Occupational Therapy and whilst I don't think getting that ATAR will be a breeze; people exaggerate... What do you think, '11ers? After...

How will you organize your stuff?

Boxes complicate things. They may be big and brow and easy to notice, but I still manage to lose them. I think I can look after one small lever-arch folder, thanks... :D

Do HSC sciences need more maths?

Although there are some private schools who only let physics teachers teach it if they majored in physics/have a Master of Education (Physics)... Edit: Oh, there should NOT be any physics teachers who cannot TEACH let alone pass SC maths. Almost EVERY NSW HSC science teacher is qualified to...

Do HSC sciences need more maths?

Yes. But really, people like that should not be teaching physics in the first place. Ideally every physics teacher will have done a Bachelor of Science (Physics) at university, but it doesn't work like that..
  19. S

How will you organize your stuff?

"The whole shibang" LMAO I say "shit-bang!" myself. Well, it tends to be more like, "I'm getting the whole fucking lot"... but I laugh at your politeness only because I have none! :D I'm getting binder exercise books (128 pp), textbooks (duh), a lever-arch folder, a hospitality uniform...

Do HSC sciences need more maths?

Would everyone agree with the idea "slightly more to a lot more maths in Geology (E&ES), Biology, Chemistry & Physics; leave the Senior Science course as is"? :/
