haha yes that does explain a bit. Based on your comments, I must admit smaller and mid-tier firms may be financially better. Someone else I've talked to who worked at a mid-tier firm was able to get 1 day off as well. They worked as a 'full-time employee' whilst studying rather than a cadetship...

Picking subjects is subjective. For subjects relevant to a career in high school PDPHE, policing or the navy: - Legal Studies (a introduction to some legal concepts) - IPT (computing skills is nice)

For the USYD and UNSW question. I would say, depends on where you live. Some people I know would not go to UNSW or USYD as they cbb traveling so just went to Macquarie. Nice and near. Less time traveling may equate to better grades. A question that applies to most people, is would you want to...

Reading the post above, I was reminded of a uni camp I attended. Absolute shit. Organisers spent all the money on booze so the accommodation was basically the next shittest thing after a choice of sleeping outside on grass with a sleeping bad and no tent. With spiders and mosquitos everywhere.

An average of med-high B6/E4 in all your subjects. You may get a 99+ with all but one B6 if they're really high though... e.g. 98+ average and a E3 for 4 unit maths or something like that.
