Agree with above. Karnivool, Midnight Juggernauts and Architecture in Helsinki are decent aussie bands I can think off the top of my head though.

Actually when Glenn Beck praised TR on his radio show Muse made him repeal all of his comments by the end of it.

I would go Origin of Symmetry > Absolution > Showbiz > The Resistance > Black Holes & Revelations myself. TR was not great but MK Ultra a a few other tracks made it a decent album, one of my top 5 for the year at least.
