    Physics marathon (hsc)

A Maglev train relies on superconductors for operation, superconductors are utilised both to levitate the maglev train and to propel the train. On the rails of a maglev train situate superconducting electromagnets which are fed with AC current, this means that the electromagnets have constantly...

    Physics marathon (hsc)

The principle of relativity states that no inertial frame of reference is given preference over another inertial frame of reference. Considering the situation from the Q, let the twin who has undergone space travel be T1 and the one who remained on Earth be T2. The misconception in the q arises...

    Physics marathon (hsc)

This is because for a transformer to work it requries a changing magnetic field fed by the supply current from the primary coil to induce an emf in the secondary coil. DC current produces a steady magnetic field and current flows in one direction, therefore the direction or magnitude of the DC...

    Physics marathon (hsc)

Question (not a real HSC q) but if someone could explain this to me it would be much appreciated One of the factors influencing the magnitude of atmospheric drag is the amount of solar wind and radiation, from Jac Txtbook it says solar wind causes the outer-atmosphere to expand, increasing air...

    Physics marathon (hsc)

Well firstly you would talk about the limitation of technology (poor vacuum pumps) made experimental data invalid, this is why there were inconsistent results about whether cathode rays were particles or waves. Secondly you would need to describe at least two experiments for particle...

    Physics marathon (hsc)

Can someone explain to me Einstein's thought experiments involving mirrors and trains and discuss the relationship between thought and reality? Im a bit confused as the textbook says the train is travelling at c, although i remember in an assessment task the marker crossed it out and wrote...

    Can't concentrate!

From what i am reading, i think people should just take 1-2break days, since it is so long to Phy and Chem. IMO doing "procrastinating" study is no good anyway, take a few days off, then go hard with productive study.

    ATAR estimate ... now

i vouch for this guys opinion, just because you go to top 50 school and 30% get 90+, does not make your Atar comparable to that standards considering your ranks and marks

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 1

I definitely feel great about this exam (from a 2U + 3U student's perspective), i thought they might pull something hard like in 2011 paper, which i only got like 50ish for that out of 84. If the E4 cut-off is around 50ish, then yeh i think ill be confident. Predicting my mark to be 45-60...
