Easiest Arts subjects to boost marks?

Probably the WRIT units are the easiest. I'm a first year Arts/Law student and funnily enough, I'm enrolled in WRIT1002 - Argumentation in Semester 1 and then WRIT1001 - Academic essays in Semester 2. Hmm.

What clubs and societies did everyone join?

    UNSW or Usyd

Go with USyd (I'm probably a bit biased there). lol But UNSW might be harder to transfer into externally, because they guarantee at least 100 internal transfers after the 1st year into Combined Law (it will be more if more get over 75 and apply) Also depends where you live. For me, to get to...

    Semester 1 Timetables

Hmm I have a Law tutorial a few hours after a Law lecture. I know people say tutorials start in week 2, but it specifically says on the timetable that the tutorial starts in week 1. How are you expected to prepare/study for a tutorial that's only a couple of hours after the lecture?

I was experimenting on the ATAR calculator and the following marks gave you an ATAR of 80.95: English Standard - 80/100 Business Studies - 83/100 Mathematics - 78/100 Arabic Continuers - 86/100 Biology - 79/100 For future reference, use this: http://hscatarcalculator.com.au/ It's quite useful

Advice on whether to drop subjects?

If you're getting great grades in Legal Studies and you enjoy it, then keep it! Drop the subject you don't like the most, its as simple as that...lol

Practical getting a laptop for uni?

I guess for a subject like law, a netbook/ultrabook would be more practical than in engineering/science, since theres alot more actual note taking rather than diagrams, graphs, maths etc. Right? The only reason i'm getting a net/ultrabook for uni is because I type faster than I write and if I...

Is a Commercial Law major a waste of time if you're doing an LLB?

Does SOR I or SOR II scale better?

Probably SOR II by a tiny bit. But don't worry about scaling. It doesn't really matter in this case. SOR is an easy course (as long as you are not complacent and put in the hard work + effort). I did SOR I and achieved 49/50, and it counted heaps towards my ATAR.

What kind of marks do I need for 96+ with my subjects?

I think the humanities are scaling much better in recent years. I got over 99 with Ancient (98/100) , Legal and SOR I (49/50), but I did have Extension I English and Extension I Maths. I know this is a huge generalisation, but I feel that there are more academically gifted students choosing...

What kind of marks do I need for 96+ with my subjects?

For year 12, your planned HSC subjects are like...14 units... I did 13 units for the majority of year 12, but then I realised how stupid it is...why do so many units, when only your best 10 count? I don't understand why your school makes you do 12. I think you should do 12 units at the...
