    Another HSC question help

A student used the titration process to determine the concentration of a potassium hydroxide solution. She found that 25ml of a 0.1mol/L sulphuric acid solution reacted with exactly 10ml of the potassium hydroxide solution. Calculate the concentration of the potassium hydroxide solution. I...

I see. So if it was H2SO4, then the moles of Hydrogen must be multiplied by 2? Is that right?

    HSC question help

A student carried out an investigation to analyse the sulphate content of lawn fertiliser. The student weighed out 1g of fertiliser and dissolved it in water. 50ml of 0.25mol/l barium chloride solution was then added. A white precipitate of barium sulphate formed, which weighed 1.8g...

Thank you so much! Now I get it!

    Recessive/Dominant defects

so polyploidy is like having 3 or more chromosomes for all 23 sets of chromosomes?
  10. A

    Recessive/Dominant defects

So technically, trisomy is polyploidy in one set of chromosome?
  11. A

    Recessive/Dominant defects

So polyploidy means an extra SET/PAIR of chromosomes in ALL 23 sets of chromosomes?
  12. A

    Recessive/Dominant defects

I get what trisomy is now. But can you explain polyploidy with more detail? I'm still unsure of what it is. About the dominant/recessive question, I was asking about defects, not mutations. Haha.

    Recessive/Dominant defects

OK, so in other words, trisomy is an extra chromosome on any of the 23 sets of chromosomes? Also, when you say "extra set of chromosomes", does it mean a pair of chromosomes?

    Recessive/Dominant defects

How do we know whether if a defect is recessive/dominant? Also, if you can, please explain the difference between trisomy and polyploidy to me. Thanks!

    Integration question help

A curve has d^2y/dx^2 = 8x and the tangent at (-2,5) makes an angle of 45 degrees with the x-axis. Find the equation of the curve. I integrated 8x and got 4x^2 and subbed the x value into it. Where do I go from there? Any hints?

    Help with fractions

Sketch y = √x+5 for -4<x<4 and find its maximum and minimum values. I differentiated it to get stationary points. But I ended up with this: 1/x+5 = 0
