    General Thoughts: Ancient History

Well my thesis was based on how Spartan women maintained a respected and appreciated status within their society due to their main roles as mothers. Spent a few pages discussing the importance of them giving birth, in which I incorporated the source as an indicator of the athletic training women...

    General Thoughts: Ancient History

Pompeii and Herculaneum: 90% good, I hated the Contributions question though, it was the one topic I was shaky with Section II Sparta: For the significance of Alcman, I wrote that his 'Maiden Songs' provided an alternate perspective on the Spartan way of life - one that wasn't idealised and...

    Module B: Speeches Discussion

When all else fails: blame the teachers
  6. acidsushi

    Module C: Caesar Discussion

Same here, I discussed how external influences and powers can impact on the disparate behaviours and emotions within an individual - rather than conflict between two different individuals. Fak.

    Quoting in an essay

Ibid is mostly for citations in a computer-generated essay or document - not for a hand-written exam. Just do in-text referencing each time like: Pompeii and Herculaneum's sources kill the brain cells of HSC Ancient History students (Lazer) "The plaster cast bodies are mad fun to look at"...

    Module A: EBB and Gatsby

I loosely based mine on that, but I talked more about the spiritual component than love - DERP

    Module A: EBB and Gatsby

    Ehhhhhhh, mine was poorly worded though. It was obvious I'd adapted a pre-written essay haha I actually finished 20 minutes early (somehow) because even though I wrote a fair bit, I talked out of my ass 90% of the time ;___;

General Thoughts: English Advanced Paper 2

Occasion of an ecumenical service for the victims of the HSC tragedy

    Module B: Speeches Discussion

Yeah they actually refused to do it. They relied on our teachers who were positive the paper would never ask for Deane because it was such a weak speech. I gotta admit, for a moment there I actually scanned the other Mod B questions to see if I could answer them instead haha

    Module A: EBB and Gatsby

That sounds like a pretty strong argument, kinda wish I'd done something like that. Mine was about how perfection can be seen as spiritual fulfilment - something EBB upholds due to Victorian value systems, and Fitzgerald denotes due to spiritual vacuity of materialism during the 1920s. Felt...

    Module B: Speeches Discussion

Nah, lots of people from my school didn't do it either - it was a pretty nasty question.

    Module A: EBB and Gatsby

How well do you think you guys went? Did "perfection" screw you over? How did you define it? :awesome:

General Thoughts: English Advanced Paper 2

    Module A (EBB+Gatsby) - eh Module B (Speeches) - rekt Module C (Caesar) - lol gg
  16. acidsushi

How many booklets did you fill out?

2, 2, and 2 5 pages for Mod A 5 pages for Mod B 6 pages for Mod C So in total, 16 pages of total bullshit
  17. acidsushi

    Module B: Speeches Discussion

Same here omg. If that extract wasn't there I seriously would've flipped the fucking table.
  18. acidsushi

    Memorising all speeches/paragraphs

I'm sure you had a pretty easy time today for Mod B haha
  19. acidsushi

    Memorising all speeches/paragraphs

Not necessarily, I got 14/15 for both my mid-yearly and trial Module B essays and I followed that method. Of course you don't only talk about the rhetorical triangle, but it's not that much of a hindrance.
