Be consistent like everybody says, the HSC is a marathon so pace yourself ! If your school isnt ranked high just try and get 1st rank or as close to the top as you can, then it shouldnt affect you as much.

My teacher wasn't to great in prelim but we had fun, in the HSC year they really stepped it up and we learnt alot. So it really depends, maybe stick around for a little while and if 12 units gets to much drop it.
