What can I do now? Would I still be able to make it into UNSW?

Smoking pot and drinking booze and slacking around does not a low life make. It may may have negative effects on marks though.

What can I do now? Would I still be able to make it into UNSW?

Do a tertiary prep course or something. Surely UNSW or UWS offers one of these sort of "alternate" pathways, and it will better prepare you for uni than another round of the HSC will by a factor of about 6 million.

    Should I repeat year 12?

Let's do the maths. HSC + UGradMed = 1 + 5/6 years = 6/7 years. UGrad + UGradMed (After 1 year and ok GPA) = 1 + 6/7 years = 7/8 years. UGrad + GradMed = 3 + 5 = 8 years. Now: The HSC year may lead you into medicine, but will otherwise be useless. The UGrad degree may lead you into medicine...

    Internet filtering: You can't opt-out

I don't get it. How does me viewing "blah" content harm society, or how does society benefit from me not viewing "blah" content? I'm pretty sure society will be no better or worse as a result of me viewing some porn, or anything else this filter is supposed to block. To Rudd: Fuck off mate. How...

    Soz :( Fixed ..

    Who will you vote for?

With about 12 months until the next election, it's time to gauge ...

    Internet filtering: You can't opt-out

Maybe I don't understand, but if the Libs support this too, doesn't that make the Greens irrelevant?

    Internet Democracy

If you don't mind paying for the public servants to do it, you could have a short quiz setup (multiple choice would be fine) that needs to be taken before you vote on each piece of legislation, where the quiz assesses a basic knowledge of what you're voting on. Quiz length/depth could vary...

    NSW state election.. dilemma

Let me get this straight. You want to remove the state government for (presumably) the foreseeable future because you don't like the choices you're being offered in a single state election? What, pray tell, is your grand master plan should you be unhappy with the choices available in some...

    counting to a million

At 5 numbers a second it would take you more than two straight days to get there :(

    Convention of naming points

Oh yeah, good point. In the case of a square, when you refer to the square ABCD, it's implicit in that listing of vertices that there are edges between AB, BC, CD and DA, or written another way, (AB)CD, A(BC)D, AB(CD), A)BC(D. So the left to right, top to bottom thing I suggested doesn't work...

    Convention of naming points

There is no 'correct' way, but I think top to bottom, left to right, is the most natural way for English speakers since that's how we read and write. For example, a triangle with two rows of points, one at the top and two below, I would name the top point A (or whatever naming system you're...

    De Moivre's Theorem

    Just a different answer. With the facts: \begin{align*} \omega^3 &= 1,\\ \omega^2 &= \overline{\omega} & \text{(just multiply the LHS of the first equation by } \overline{\omega} \text{ to see this)}, \\ \text{and} \\ \omega + \overline{\omega} &= -1 & (\text{since } \textstyle...

UAI 98+: Tutor available for Mathematics 2/3/4U

A little more than technicality purposes I think :) Without it, the question doesn't have an answer (you can make the integral as big as you want).

points of inflexion and horizontal p.o.i

Recap: A point of inflection of a nice function y is simply a minimum or maximum of y'. You already know how to find mins and maxs of nice functions, so you just apply the same knowledge to the function y'. That is, you look for points x such that y''(x) = 0 (at this stage x is a potential...

Why are atheists on this website always attacking Christianity?

You wouldn't be surprised if <x, y or z stab in the dark> was true? Seriously mate, what's the 'critical thought' to 'blind faith' ratio like with respect to your belief? For something you probably hold pretty dear, you're doing it a pretty shitty disservice here. Oh, and if you were a...

Sorry I would have PM'd this but apparently I can't. Question 3ci) in your sample is a bit dodgy unless you give the restriction a < b.

Why are atheists on this website always attacking Christianity?

You're right, the author wasn't writing in English. But you're going to have to do a little better than "this is a mistranslation, and actually, so are all translations. In fact, the original text said what makes your argument wrong and my argument right".

Why are atheists on this website always attacking Christianity?

Do you doubt that I can't name many more scholars who agree with what I wrote? Or is it some other issue? Another question, why does the author of the Gospel of John refer to himself in the third person? For instance, in John 21:24, This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who...

Why are atheists on this website always attacking Christianity?

Homer's Iliad is about 2800 years old, so should I consider it true based on this number alone?
