Its completely alright. I've gone out with girls older than me; once in year 7, she was in year 9. The other time I was in year 10, she was in uni. I guess the age gap doesn't matter between year 8-10, but otherwise, it seems a tad peculiar. Like, a 16 year old going out with an 18 year old...

I meant it figuratively. What I did mean to say is that you shouldn't give up straight away, mend it, repair your relationship. So if the day comes, that you guys will part ways, you will have closure, knowing that you've tried your best to maintain it.
