He's going to need to get his speech ready sometime soon, Obama's way ahead of him. BBC News still at Obama: 103, McCain 49. Edit: I heard Fox News is biased towards McCain? For a while, The Economist was as well.

Anyone else find physics really... well random?

I was expecting more calculation questions... And I was surprised that there was no projectile motion questions in the short answer section, there's always been one in the past...

    General Thoughts - Physics

I was surprised at there being only 1 projectile motion question (and being multiple choice, too!). Usually, projectile motion is worth 5-6 marks in the paper. Overall it was a pretty good paper. I'm thinking I got 80-85.

Violent music and violent games make kids violent.

Slashdot and Ars Techina beg to differ here: http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/03/01/222235 http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070301-8959.html These articles seem to suggest that people make this conclusion (that "violent music and violent games make kids violent") to account...

    Philosophy

You could learn it yourself. I mean, I am (trying to). It started in studies of religion, where we were having debates on religion and morals/ethics. I looked up a few philosophical texts to prove that there have been secular sources of ethics, and that's kind of where my interest in philosophy...

    Free school travel axed

Agreed. My cousin has to take the train to the city to get to school, and without her pass, its $2.60 a day.

Oh my, it looks like even the ISPs are against this: http://yro.slashdot.org/yro/08/11/01/0248221.shtml

    Where do you stand?

I've never known where I really stand. Most people tell me I'm moderate left, but: Overall, the PoliticsForum quiz considers you an individually-orientated, materialist, small-government, free-trade, non-absolutist, kind of person. These characteristics would put you in the overall category of...

What are the chances of my school giving me the WEP key?

She's new, so I'll forgive her for that.

    Philosophy

Well it wasn't just philosophy, it came up in a religion discussion. I was saying that religion wasn't the only source of morals/ethics, and that some philosophical texts also had them. Some people in my class really thought that you can't be moral without being religious.
