    Science degree without HSC Science?

(Don't freak out!) I'm thinking of doing a university course in science. The only problem is that I have done no science whatsoever for the HSC (well I have done mathematics). Do you think I'd be able to take a science course at university? Would I be extremely disadvantaged? I mean Arts...

    Science degree without HSC Science?

Um... thanks for that. It's not that I wasn't smart enought to do sicence (in fact I'm thinking I might get dux of yr 11). I just had no guidance from anyone and had no idea what I wanted from life. I originally planned on doing law. Now, I believe that doing so could not be more...

    Science degree without HSC Science?

Yes, his story is only anecdotal evidence and I'm sure he is exceptional for a 2U student. But I believe it to be incorrect to categorise myself with other 2U students. I am near top of my Mathematics cohort (ahead of extension students). MOST 2U students would struggle, but then again...

    Science degree without HSC Science?

I've always liked chemistry most. But you do think it is do-able right?

    Science degree without HSC Science?

Would anybody beg to differ? What if I try really hard? I don't know if I come off as a dumb student, but I do attain high grades in other subjects. I did get 90 in science for my school certificate. (I know that's intensely irrelevent to university but nontheless.)

Subject choices- Need help with Science selections

Chem is more important than physics for veterenary science. Don't do business studies whatever you do! Modern is a good subject and is the better scaling history. In my opinion, you should strike a balance. I didn't and I think it would be nice if I had done. You should keep your...

I'm thinking of doing a university course in science. The only problem is that I have done no science whatsoever for the HSC (well I have done mathematics). Do you think I'd be able to take a science course at university? Would I be extremely disadvantaged? I mean Arts courses have no...

Really want to do HSC extension math!

I'm in year 11, and I only do the 2U Mathematics course but I really want to do extension math in the HSC year because: I have attained such high grades in the 2U course; I am very interested in math; I don't get nearly enough math work. I am craving for more! I want to study math/economics at...

    Subject Selection

I'd reconsider business studies. As you are doing Advanced Enlgish and Extension Math, you may want a more challenging subject. Economics is much much much better! Not only does is scale very higher, actually higher than physics, but it's way more enjoyable also. A band 5 in econ is as good...

Most Loved, Hated and Boring Subject

Changed my mind... Loved: Mathematics, Modern History, Economics Hated: English (Yet I do extension.) Boring: Legal Studies - cases, media articles and legislation are not the slightest bit interesting. Domestic violence sounds intriguing... but the novelty wears off after the first 2...

Does that want extra unit really count in math & english?

The gap between standard and advanced English is really quite huge! In 2003 (I know its a while ago, but it hasn't changed much since) Standard English scaled at approximately 73.2% whilst Advanced scaled at around 128.8% (with 100% being an average scaling subject). Advanced isn't insanely...

    Advice

I think I made a mistake in choosing my subjects. So I do: English Adv. English Ext. 1 SOR 1 Mathematics Economics Modern History History Extension But, I really want to pursue a career heavily focused around the field of mathematics. Most probably BA Commerce (Liberal Studies)...

    Choosing HSC subjects

You should also consider legal studies and economics. Perhaps instead of geography. You may want to do the extension history course for the HSC. This is just my experince with subjects.

James Ruse are cheaters and the BOS do not care.

I believe you just said it perfectly. Students from other schools are just as capable. If the students of James Ruse want to excel then of course they are allowed to but, in my eyes, studying the HSC content before the HSC year is cheating when there are regulations which only govern other...

    4 subject rule

They don't need to count all the units in that subject. eg. if you go badly in extension english 1 than it won't be counted but advanced english and extension english 2 will be counted.

    How do my subjects scale?

Really? My subjects scale badly? I had a thought that they might be high scaling as they are all rather demanding courses. Are sciences the only high scaling subjects?

Most Loved, Hated and Boring Subject

Love - Modern, economics, legal :) Hate - Drama, hence my dropping it Boring - Drama, seriously want to stab it!:jedi:

    How do my subjects scale?

I just want a rough indication. I know results are more reflective of how hard I work rather than scaling, etc, etc My subjects are: Advanced English Extension English 1 Extension English 2 Modern History History Extension Economics SOR 1 Mathematics (OR) Legal Studies (Have to drop one.)

Aboriginal children in care now exceeds stolen generations

Well, it benefits the aboriginal children. I am not racist but it is a fact that many indigenous people have drug and alcohol addictions. So wouldn't it be better for the indigenous children to be moved to a family who will love them and care for them. I've been to darwin and I saw many...

Fatties have right to extra airline seat

If fatties get it for free then the airline will lose money and will make it up by charging normal people more money. I hate fat people trying to sue companies because they're fat. Seriously, if you want to be thin stop eating and go to the gym and stop trying to blame your fatness on food...
