    Prepare and memorise a story then adapt it to the stimulus in the exam.

    Had barriers for half yearly. Everyone would be glad to see that again. But, are the teachers from schools allowed to change the essay question for CSSA?

    Trial Discussion Thread.

    This is the last thing I want. Anything would be better than that.

    Opinions on my selections?

    Yeah, I understand that, but having too many units might make hard for you spend enough time on each subject. Whereas having less units will allow you to really focus on each subject.

    Exact Values...

    I made a mistake. It's actually cos(180+x) = -cos(x) --> since it's in the third quadrant where only tan is positive. Sorry about that. But I still got the answer because cos(45) = sin(45) --> If it was 30 or 60 degrees, then I would've gotten it wrong. Thanks for pointing that out. I've fixed...

    Exact Values...

    Try this: sec(240)
  7. bedpotato

    Exact Values...

    Yep, you're right. So: cosec(300) = -1/sin(60) ----> which = -2/sqrt(3)

    Exact Values...

    Don't worry, I get it. This is the time of the night where my brain starts to slow down. What you're doing is right. But remember cosec = 1/sin So cosec(300) = -1/sin60 You only wrote cosec(300) = -sin60. You made the same mistake for the first question. You said sec(225) = -cos(45) But...
  9. bedpotato

    Exact Values...

    First of all, sec(225) =/= -cos(45) Put 1/cos(225) into your calculator and you get -1.414... Put -cos(45) into your calculator and you get -0.707... Secondly...this is going to sound pretty stupid but, idk, lol, sorry... The steps I've shown you is how I always do (and set out) these types...

    Exact Values...

    1. sec = 1/cos sec(225) = 1/cos(225) -----> 225 = 180 + 45 sec(180+45) = 1/cos(180+45) -------> cos(180+x) = -cos(x) sec(180+45) = -1/cos(45) ( cos(45) = 1/sqrt(2) -----> 1/cos(45) = sqrt(2) ) sec(180+45) = -sqrt(2) Do the same thing for 2.

    maths prelim question

    Why not? Sorry, I'm just confused as to why it can't be 90.

    maths prelim question

    But you cannot assume that angle ACB is a right angle. That would be too easy for 3 marks. Since part ii) is 3 marks, you probably have to show that triangle ABC has a right angle and then use SOHCAHTOA to find sin(theta). Edit: Lol. Even though you can't assume anything, I was wrong about...

    maths prelim question

    The question says that angle CED = theta, but the diagram says that angle CED = q.

    chance for CSSA?

    Your rank isn't bad. And as you said there's a very strong cohort, so your chances of band 6 are looking good, but obviously if your rank increases you'll have a better shot at band 6, and maybe mid band 6, rather than just scraping a band 6. So, definitely. If you do well and your rank is high...

    NEED HELP WITH BIOLOGY ASSIGNMENT ASAP- Suggestions for experiments.

    Honestly. A teacher was telling someone to do this.

    NEED HELP WITH BIOLOGY ASSIGNMENT ASAP- Suggestions for experiments.

    For maintaining a balance, you could buy a kidney and dissect it, but lol. For blueprint of life, modelling meiosis (or modelling polypeptide synthesis) is also a good one. You can use pipecleaners to represent the different chromosomes, and then show crossing over, random segregation etc. But...

    Anime for related text. Main text is The Cucible

    If you can find techniques and compare and contrast (link) it back to your prescribed text, then it should be fine. Also, look at the rubric. Have at least 2 related texts and link each one of them to the different components of the rubric. If you can do that, you should be fine. Well, that's my...

    What is the greatest value taken by the function f(x)=4-2cosx for x>=0

    y = 4 - 2 cosx can also be written as: y = -2cosx + 4 The amplitude is 2, and then add 4 = 6. So the greatest value is 6. The greatest value is the maximum y-value.

    Yes, but unlike you, only the firstset of trials count :mad: (except for M. History, which is both). 1. Maths 2U - 30%. Can't wait. 2. Chemistry - 25% (Aim: top 5) 2. Biology - 30% (Aim: top 5) 4. Modern History - 25% (but there's 2 trials, so 10% and 15%) (Aim: top 10) 5. English - 30%...
