Looking for some advice as I start Year 11

You can't be serious. You've already studied 12 modules of science in 6 weeks? I'd take it a bit easy but ensure that you get enough revision throughout the year.

Class of 2021, do you have any comeback moments during your HSC year?

Yep even I had a 30% task (multimodal). Absolutely demotivating when u get a terrible ranking in that.

Class of 2021, do you have any comeback moments during your HSC year?

Lol its looking like everyone (myself included) fails their first english task. At our school the first term's multimodal weighting > Trial weighting so it's a rocky road from here on out.

Class of 2021, do you have any comeback moments during your HSC year?

What school rank if I can ask? You can give a ballpark range if you don't want to say exactly.

Al-Faisal College beats James Ruse in Maths

Is this by percentage of maths students achieving Band 6? IIRC, this has happened in past years, because these schools force more of their students into 2U and away from 4U. I'm really skeptical these schools have more genuine maths skill than JR.

What is a math major really like?

I'm planning on doing a Bachelor of Economics at USYD beginning in 2023, and since I can pick two majors, I was considering mathematics to be one of them. I've always been very good at math, and learn independently and take a natural interest in the subject. My main concern is that uni math...

sinx and cosx is negative. Therefore beta is in the 3rd quadrant and approx. 216.8699 (3.785 radians)

    Vector q

If i had to pick the most correct answer (that is only somewhat correct) I would say C. It does have modulus root(736) and each component (i,j,k) has been scaled into the opposite direction, even if they haven't all been scaled by the same factor.

Modern history, legal studies, business studies or biology?

I am wary of 'choosing a subject because it teaches discipline in another'. While it might seem like multiple essay subjects can help your improve writing, it could increase your workload a lot, and if you hate essay writing, you're going to especially resent picking them. In my opinion, I...

    HONOUR ROLL Out Early??

@President KK K and L surnames are both in there, under K section

    HONOUR ROLL Out Early??

This would explain the error I'm seeing. I think every person in the k category was actually a 2020 graduate.

    HONOUR ROLL Out Early??

I've found a person on the list that I know graduated in 2020. Surely there must be more errors like this.

Proof questions that I wanna make sure I got right!

    8. Suppose the two factors are a, b > root(n) ab > n, which is a contradiction since ab = n as we define them as a pair of factors to n. 9. a) n^2 = 4m - 2 n^2 = 2(2m-1) The RHS is even, implying the LHS is even. For n^2 to be even, n is even. b) Let n=2p. 4p^2 + 4 = 2 2p^2 +2 = 1 2(p^2 +1) =...

    Perms and Combs

    1. I'm going to assume you're talking about this diagram from Q25 in Exercise 14E i) You must move down a total of 6 times, and right a total of 4 times for a total of 10 moves. The order in which 6 down moves can be placed into a seqeuence of 10 moves is \binom{10}{6} =210 . You may also...

mind blank on part 13 f

Firstly, vector diagrams always help. Here is one for this situation The blue line is line l The projection is the vector from A to the intersection of the purple and blue lines in the bottom right The purple line is the 'perpendicular distance' we aim to solve for The black line is vector AP...

Mind Blank with this Q PLs Help Appreciated Thanks

Alternatively, by a geometrical method; This diagram illustrates the situation. Then you must prove the two angles in red are equal because the bottom angle in red is arg(z+1), and the two angles combined are arg(z), making Arg(z) = 2arg(z+1) The lower red angle is equal to the green angle by...

how exactly does the hsc work?

@pheii Schools generally timetable 2u, 3u and 4u math in their own seperate periods. This means tests throughout the year happen whenever you have that subject period, definitely not at the same time. Trials and HSC exams are also planned with the consideration that some students do more than...

    Mindblank on this induction q

    To find the limit in (a) \frac{}{}1^3 + 2^3 + 3^3 ... + n^3 = \frac{n^2(n+1)^2}{4}\\ \frac{1^3 + 2^3 + 3^3 ... + n^3}{n^4} = \frac{n^2(n+1)^2}{4n^4} =\displaystyle \lim_{n \to infinity}\frac{n^2+2n+1}{4n^2} =\displaystyle \lim_{n \to infinity}\frac{1}{4}+\frac{1}{2n}+\frac{1}{4n^2} The two...
