I just asked my teacher pretty much the same thing. No, it doesn't. In fact, if you don't do well enough in the higher scaling subject, then you can get a worse ATAR than if you had chosen the easier subject. Don't worry about scaling, just do what you want and feel most comfortable with.

You can't fail your exams unless you get 2 N-awards. There are other ways to get into Uni in case you don't get the marks. Focus mainly on what you are having trouble with. Teachers generally have some good ideas on how you can study more effectively, so maybe ask them for ideas. Good luck :)

Don't, choose something different. You can always find pictures or picture books, too. It limits you.
