I think anyone could get higher than band 2 if they put in a bit of effort. Unless they had a learning impairment or something.

I think if you legitimately try it's hard to get a band 2. My older brother decided not to bother doing the HSC paper 2 so I think that's why his mark was so low haha

I'm pretty sure my older brother got a band 2 or 3 in English haha, still pulled off a 92.something ATAR so it wasn't the end of the world for him :D

Your teachers get a breakdown of how you went in each section and what your final mark was (according to my legal teacher she'll also get my raw marks, but I don't know why people purchase them if that's the case. Unless teachers aren't allowed to disclose that) so yeah, you can't hide from them...

You really feel the lack of privacy when it comes to the HSC results. I went into town for coffee today and like 20 people that I barely know asked me about the HSC and started talking about how well they expect me to do. It's like 'yeah great, have fun destroying me when I get a shit ATAR'
