Scaling when you're the only person in your class?

My misses topped the state in Italian Extension and she was the only one in her class. Just do as well as you can in those final exams, and have your essays and works checked and re-checked consistently. Good luck :)

Difference between Bachelor of Commerce (Liberal Studies) and BCOM/B arts?

at the university of sydney* I might add.

Difference between Bachelor of Commerce (Liberal Studies) and BCOM/B arts?

Anyone willing to shed a little bit of light and/or offer opinions on the differences between these two courses, other than the fact that one offers a double degree and is 5 years whereas the other is 4? I'm tossing up between the two at the moment and don't know what to decide on yet...

Awkward moment when extension history is in 2 days and you feel like you know nothing

Re: Awkward moment when extension history is in 2 days and you feel like you know not Don't panic :) You'll be fine! When you see the source, it'll come to you. You won't include absolutely everything you've studied for! Only what's relevant to answering the question. Case studies are usually...

The awkward moment when you have extension Thursday and feel you know nothing

It'll come to you when you see the source and question. You just need to go over the 5 dot points, debates and your historians. The source should dictate the response. good luck!

Raw mark for a band E4?

There's a big gap between a 95% and 96% (HSC mark out of 50). It's almost several ATAR aggregate points toward the final result. Crucial ones if you're looking to cap toward the next high ninety. It's such a viciously marked and challenging subject too. Bring it on I say :) Who's prepped?

E4/Band 6 cut off for Extension English?

They're always hard on prepared responses every year though, so that wouldn't be a factor that would bring up the aligning - even though the question was so generic it practically asked you to copy and paste. It'll be interesting to see how they mark them, though. It'll hover in between 37-40

    General Thoughts: English Extension 1

We'll have to wait and see. After all, the marking centre is really pedantic in terms of Genre as a topic. Hopefully we all did well. Best of luck guys, hope you smashed it. On to the next exams.

    General Thoughts: English Extension 1

Awesome :) Same here, I think the total essay I did ended up being roughly about 2,300 words all up with the creative 1600 words (taking into consideration moulding the ticket in there in a profound way). Didn't do any more than 12pgs for the essay and 11 for the creative. Sounds like you knew...

    General Thoughts: English Extension 1

I think he meant pages, but then again, there's a few kids who did do massive amounts of booklets. Perhaps fast writers, big handwriting, or both. Either way, if he did do that much, he's to be congratulated. It was an overall straightforward exam with the creative 'attempting' to derail the...

Anyone else losing the drive/tenacity as their exams are almost over?

I completely agree. I feel the same, and I hope that's not a bad thing! Keep going, best of luck!

Anyone else losing the drive/tenacity as their exams are almost over?

It is indeed a lot less daunting, and equally satisfying seeing less and less exams left on the HSC time table. Puts you in a different mind frame. But my dilemma is, I'm afraid I'll slack off a little too much, and the final 3 units are EQUALLY important as the first 7 (that will count to the...

Anyone else losing the drive/tenacity as their exams are almost over?

Are you guys getting motivated at the thought of fewer exams? Or have you been content to relax a little in between days compared with the first week of HSC?

SO who else is not looking forward tomorrow?

I've struggled with time limits in the past (I've always certainly made them), but I've walked out with massive hand cramps/shaking hands afterwards. Not looking forward to stressing for 2 hours, but should be an alright exam overall ... unless they try to ask profound, philosophically oriented...

    Which library to study at?

State library - although it does get quite packed considering what's going on in the last few weeks. But during the earlier terms it's alright. Motivates me to study because it's a fair way from home, plus I get to see the competition working hard (or hardly working) which actually makes me do...

Most Common & Random Forms of Procrastination (2012)

I spent my whole holidays pre-trials discovering and watching Breaking Bad. First 4 seasons done in 2 weeks. Terrible, I know, but it was worth it. Skyler was a bitch.

P&H: Writing over the given space?

I wrote well over the given lines too. You'll be fine as long as you didn't write on the very edge of the margins, and even if you did, I don't think they'd consider it a problem. Usually, actually almost always, exams have these black right angled borders on each corner of a booklet to guide a...

Section I - Cities of Vesuvius – Pompeii and Herculaneum

As long as you had the conflicting ideologies of Ancient, Modern and Visual sources then you're fine. You contrast the Ancients with each other (through bias, context ect), then speak of how these views have been re-evaluated/re-interpreted by the modern sources (create an argument), then you...
