    Re: HSC 2013 3U Marathon Thread (i) - By inspection a is a double root of the polynomial P(x) as there is no remainder. This means that there is a turning point at x=a. Therefore, P'(a)=0 at x=a. Would this be enough to answer the question. I am not sure how to do it mathematically, so...

    Re: HSC 2014 2U Marathon And Part 2. I solved it using induction. Dont you think part 3 is missing something. Maybe x<1. Because if x>1 then 1/1-x is negative, or am i missing something here.
