    SDD Thoughts, Expectations, Fishes?

We'll get the fish theme for sure haha As for what will be in the test, naturally they will try and justify the syllabus changes so expect the new stuff to be in there. It should be relatively easy though.

Question 10 of the 2011 Paper

Well yes technically. The only real correct answer is what you found. But for example if I needed to travel to the bus stop at 1.23 m/s to get there, and i rounded to 1.2, I technically wouldnt get there. but it dont matter, the point is you know the maths

Question 10 of the 2011 Paper

Hmm I remember this question from last year. You never round down though if it's above .05 89.996 to one decimal place goes to 90, only thing that makes sense.

    BOS Papers VS Trials

HSC papers are king. The easier questions are easier, and the harder questions harder. They ensure that they can differentiate between everyone in the whole state. Trials tend to be a certain level of difficulty for most of the paper. But rarely can they match the Q8s of the HSC in difficulty.

MX2 James Ruse Trial paper 2012

It was pretty easy. Last question as said above, looked hard, but really was pretty easy. No crazy shit. As for past papers, do HSC questions. That is all. When you've completed all of them, (at least 20 years), then look to other papers. Oh and always do trials if you can since they cover...

    can i get an e4?

Wat? 75% = 94 aligned, if I'm not mistaken. The most comfortable of Band 6es. The cut off for band 6 is about 66%. For 3u, the cut off for band 6 is about 70%. This is based of the ultimate raw marks database.

    Mechanics Taut

Do you mean taut as in there's a force going through them? Then I guess there's a force going up the string haha. If not, no force. So I guess it's an extra force you'll have to consider when you're resolving them.

    Exam technique

You know how there's some questions where you need to write stuff in order to get anywhere (most conics questions), whereas the harder questoins and something like circle geo just require you to sit there until you get it. Imo the best way is to just stare at harder questions or circle geo til...

What extra stuff should we learn for 4 unit

Dude I'm trolling haha. Oh sarcasm...so hard to pick up over the internets. If you looked the last two things up they're relating to problems which have taken the greatest mathematicians like a century to solve. Only said that because everyone was posting random shit. But on selective schools...

What extra stuff should we learn for 4 unit

So far basics imo some easy stuff, just learn how to derive stuff like Euler's equation and the Cauchy–Schwarz inequality, which will help you pick up those marks you were missing earlier. I would strongly then recommend studying the Poincaré conjecture as well as the Riemann hypothesis...

A Gift to the BOS Community

This is great. Only the commercial papers are the only ones worth doing haaaaaaaaaaa

What do you think the band 6 cut off would be?

It's been said but the cutoff will definetly not be higher than 86, considering it was 80-81. Most likely 83-84 imo. Consider the 2009 exam, which imo was of similar ease (essays easier somewhat due to the whole state knowin there would be a GFC question, while short answer a little harder). A...

Which schools do you reckon will be in the top 10?

Ah yeah haha fair enough, they were very 'bold' Yeah I think my SBHS prediction is based on hope, not on reality. I guess it's just hard to reel in as many students who work harder as the established selective schools do.

What would this 2unit rank and mark be moderated to????

Re: Can you get marked down in 2 unit math exam for not using a ruler or not labeling By a teacher who knows what they're doing, a HSC marker? No. But by some moron? Yeah. I never used a ruler, labelled my axis, etc, and my sketches were always fine. But I've always had a thing for never...

How is the HSC timetable determined?

Pretty much they put their heads together and try and screw over as many students as they can. But seriously it's probably just an algorithm to have the least amount of clashes. Which is surprising this year since Legal and Phys are on the same day (their reasonably common, are they not?)
