i dont know what i wanna do in uni

there's not many months left and early entries also beginning to open, I'm not sure what course I wanna do though I want to pursue something in either the economics or science/stem field (I know, quite disparate career paths), so if anyone is in uni or doing a course or work in those fields (or...

could the hsc require you to draw any graph

Oh ok but there isn't much graphing in yr 12 right? (we haven't finished the course yet so don't know)
  5. I

could the hsc require you to draw any graph

specifically for the maths ext. 1 course, I know there isn't much graphing content in the hsc course (though there's quite a bit in prelim), could they get us to be able to draw any graph e.g. ones with diagonal asymptotes

    Calculus

also functions, gradient (and you should be set)

    DiscuRsive

Not really a structure to it, just important notes: conversational tone (but it means still using sophisticated language), use many techniques like rhetorical question, anecdotes, you might wanna discuss two sides of a topic but have a bit of a purpose/bias (e.g. talking about technology, by...

    Crucible common module essays

I haven't actually written an essay on crucible from common module, and gotta do it for trials and hsc, what would you base your paragraphs off of? (e.g. Module A - i know you can base it off themes e.g. revenge, feminism etc.)

insulation shield for alcohol burning experiment

Yeah that's true, I might just attempt to make an insulator to reflect heat radiation, though it will probably barely change the actual enthalpy of combustion, I'll do it for marks' sake. Thank you for accuracy tips though!
  10. I

insulation shield for alcohol burning experiment

Oh ok thank you for advice I think ceramics might be a bit difficult to use, and expensive, as I would need a really large ceramic box, thanks anyways 👍
  11. I

insulation shield for alcohol burning experiment

Oh ok, yh that's what i was thinking but want to avoid a fire as well
  12. I

insulation shield for alcohol burning experiment

I've got an experiment (graded) about enthalpy of combustion measured through burning different alcohols (methanol, ethanol etc.) in spirit burners. One thing that was emphasised was using a heat insulating shield covering three sides of the experiment (to prevent heat loss). I know that this...

    the way uni works

Oh ok didn't think of that cheers
  14. I

    the way uni works

Oh ok thank you! Does being part-time vs. full-time have any implications (apart from just the 'title' difference)
  15. I

    the way uni works

Can someone explain how uni works in terms of the part time and full time situation (with credit points and all that)? And how choosing subjects/elective things work?
  16. I

Should I do extension 2 in year 12 as a Math accelerated student?

You can always give ext. 2 a go for like a term or more in yr 12 and if you don't enjoy it or arent progressing well then you can drop it (as long as you plan out your units so you have sufficient prior)
  17. I

use the rounded or exact answer?

Oh ok, thanks 👍 (just wanted to ensure wont get penalised for either method)
  18. I

use the rounded or exact answer?

What about for multiple part Qs (where you rounded your answer in part A, and need to reuse it in part B, would you use the exact or rounded answer?)
  19. I

use the rounded or exact answer?

Hi guys, For mulitple part Qs (e.g. part a, b, c) requiring the previous parts' results, should I use the exact answer I got for the previous part or the rounded (sig figs) answer from the previous part? (I'm not sure how they want it in HSC)
