    Being enroled in 2 uni's

I don't think you can do that - I think a condition of deferring is that you not be enrolled at any other uni I'm waiting on UTS to credit my units - while I maintain enrolment at MQ. Same goes for me, that I wait for when they do/don't I'll withdraw from whichever degree I don't need.

Are NZ citizens eligible for HECS?

See: http://studyassist.gov.au/sites/studyassist/helpfulresources/pages/faqs-nz If you are a current Special Category Visa (SCV) holder - so you're a NZ citizen, and have been here for 10 years, came in as a minor, resided here for at least 8 years of those 10 you will be eligible. Permanent...

    MQ Chatter Thread

Technically I am still enrolled at Macquarie... For now. I'm still trying to finalise a few things, particularly HECs. So if UTS are too slow, I can just stick it out at Macq. *Sigh* got in to work at 7:30AM this morning because of four new matters and now it's past 5PM and we've gotten...

I'm going to be working from 8:30-5 with uni from 6-9 four days a week. I'm going to be on the breakdown boat, lol

UTS LAW vs MQ LAW (already completed first year law)

If you're not feeling it... Just trust your gut. I've moved three times (or in process of). From UNSW to MQ now to UTS. I'm going from law to combined law/business My WAM/GPA is no where near as good as yours and I'm only really doing it to go to a uni closer to my work. If you're doing...

Help: Accepting multiple offers, credit exemption/transfer

Yes, concurrent enrolment is all good. Just make sure to unenrol and withdraw from the degree you don't want. You don't want to be stuck with that extra liability! Good strategy by the way! Haha[emoji28]

    MQ Chatter Thread

Yeah I got everything credited, so I'm on my way. MQ was just a rash choice. I wanted to start afresh after my terrible time at UNSW. I was depressed, on the verge of dropping out and needed to get my shit together. My time at MQ has done that. Now it's time to get my friggen degree and stop...

Business / Law at UTS - they've got the classes I need at 6pm onwards. So I can fit everything after work and don't need to ask for time off (unless for exams). Plus not too far away. MQ was a hassle getting home. Took 2 hrs. Good luck with your degree [emoji41] hope it doesn't take too long!

I think it's once you hit the threshold your liable to pay back a percentage based on your base income. Nothing to do about when you graduate.

It is around $1,330 (something like that) a unit which I don't find bad but it is terribly inconvenient having to pay it. HECS will let me do more subjects and not have to worry. I'm almost at the repayment threshold anyway, so I'm sure I'll have to start paying back the loan pretty soon...

Do you need lessons in order to pass the driving test?

If you're uncomfortable driving and think you need a professional driver to teach you, lessons are the way to go. They are expensive though. I had one lesson and I failed my Ps the first time. I choked under pressure but it gave me an idea of what I needed to improve for the next test. The...

Not rich, just an NZ citizen who had pay upfront Gonna save my money though and defer tuition through HECs, seeing as a small handful of kiwis are eligible now.

Does WAM/uni results actually matter in employment?

Grades matter when you're coming out of a degree and looking to obtain employment. It acts as a discriminator against each candidate. Sometimes you can co-relate academic ability / with ability to pick up concepts quickly etc. I think it doesn't matter as much if you go in as a cadet and...

I don't have HECS debt. I pay upfront. Plus, should my subjects get recognised then it won't be a problem. Haha. If they don't. Then all good, I'm staying at MQ.

Yes, I should've applied through a proper transfer but I'm going to apply for RPL. Hoping it goes well. It makes a difference being near to uni. I'm going to be 25-26 once I graduate. Lawd.

I used the mobile app. Got an offer from UTS for B Business / B Laws. Applied for shits and giggs, just cos it's close to work. If I accept, I would have gone to three different uni's. HAHAHA.
