i had a similar situation despite getting an low band 5 in yr 10 english ,i was forced to pick up standard .worked out pretty ok i'm within top 5 and 10 percent of the standard group.

i was going to do it,but my teacher said it wasn't worth the $145 as it was the same stuff you would do in class.however i'm going to the modern one and my teacher highly recommended that . it's really up to u and if u can afford to spend the money

u could set up two accounts .one for savings and one for daily use. don't eat out too much and try walking to places rather then use public or private transport. or u could try to set a limit on how much u can spend each day or week
